I lost a MAG 3D for it, it went into the threads and there was no way to open and clean it again.
I also use now LSD for almost everything, in fact they are in my opinion the best choice for mouses and keyboards with very little power consumption, far better than no LSD batteries.
I've been using them in all my mice (that sounds wrong lol) and my apple bluetooth keyboard. I get at least a couple of months on a charge. How can you complain about that??
No, I was complainig about alkalines, I meant I love the LSD and mostly for that applications with low consumption as regular rechargrables last a lot less due to their own self discharge.

Edit: I see why you misunderstood me " How can you complain about that" that wasn't a comment towards you. It was a general comment saying I love LSD cells :)
Every time I go through Rite Aid I look down the battery isle for the $8.88 deal on the Duraloop LSDs. I have them in practically everything I own that takes batteries now. You really can't beat em for the price and piece of mind.
I do just about the same.
Buy a new toy for kids? -> out goes junk batts for generic nonsence use/storing and in goes Eneloops.
Heck, I should really put those OEM Energizer lithiums in remote controls, like NOW!! Before those alkies leak...
Mouse has 2x Eneloops already. If alkies, maybe 10 pieces of them would have already been consumed in a year. I use Computer quite a lot, my family also.
Haha, it was my fault, not my poor english in that case 
I saw a comment on which light to include in their BOB, and someone mentioned that alkaline's don't leak unless WAY past their "freshness date" printed on the battery itself. That made me go back to the trash can and retrieve the battery I photographed. On the side opposite the leak the "use by date" is MAR 2016.
I can't speak to them being real Duracell's or not, they were on sale at my local "Home Depot", big box store.
parkerdude, 99% of my batteries that leaked were years before the expiration date except those batteries that came with my 2006 CD player. I couldn't read anything on them. They were that bad....
Did you get a hold of customer service to see if they can compensate you for the batteries and the damage of the leaked cell.

All this just happened, my mouse survived, software said that the battery was low (I had just replaced them recently), so I checked them. I've got 2 Mini-MagLites that just died, they were loaded with the same group of cells.
Maybe I should contact Duracell and see what their position is about compensation. I'll see.
Dang so sorry to hear....i use a logitech mouse with two powerex's in it and they last for months with just one charge......i never ever use alkies because they do leak, and when they do it seems to be in something expensive. I like the wt. of the mouse with nimh, with primary liths my mouse was all over the place...lol. Yes send them an email or better yet call them, because i remember the Energizer 2500 cells and they sent out coupons to get another set of rechargeables that they make.
Moral of the Story - Use wired mouse!
No Pare, i can not believe you just said that lol.......If it had to be wired i would get a trackball, have one at work and love it, but like the freedom of having no wires. Please keep us in the know about the batteries.
Interesting, I have never had an alkaline battery leak in my life. I have been using LSD for the past 3 years or so.
Not good! Thanks for the tip, this made me check the out-of-the-box Duracell in my Logitech mouse.
Duracells damaged these AA adapters. The batteries were well within the expiration date.
You guys that have Duracell batteries that have leaked or destroyed devices or lights need to take pictures of the batteries and the item it damged and send it to Duracell. My hunch is they need to be made aware of it and want to be made aware of it. And I believe they will make things right with you.
I won't leave alkalines in anything of value for long. I may use them in some lights to run them down, but I check them quite often.
I have had several things ruined or almost ruined from them. If one leaks and ruins something, save the batteries, take some pics, and contact the manufacturer. They will often reimburse you.
I've had lots of stuff get destroyed by leaving alkalines in items that aren't often used. However, I have never had a clock or remote leak when using alkies. So that's about all I use for them.
