The BLF worldwide geocache! Let's get the box round the world! BOX EN ROUTE

I checked International shipping rates for USPS from my ZIP code to the UK, came out to about $15. Not too bad. But if you want tracking, it bumps you up to Priority Mail, $39.95.

In case anyone from the US is wondering.

ircalc.usps.com/Mobile/MailServices.aspx?country=10355&m=6&p=1&o=0&dpb=0&mdt=2015/03/13%2008:00&dvi=30

50-80$ shipping from us to philippines? Uk is further but why is it cheap?

USPS must be trolling me right?

Use the drop down option to select something other than Priority Mail. First Class, which is basically normal mail, is only about $15-16USD. But you do not get Tracking Information for that cheap of shipping option.

The box will be posted (most likely) on Thursday to DBSAR! If anyone wants to be added (or removed) from the list let me know!

Awaiting its arrival

The box will be making its maiden voyage tomorrow from the UK to Canada!
feel free to draw on the box, write your name (would be good to have everyones on by the end) add stickers etc! do anything, as long as you keep the same box!
I’ve also added a split ring if anyone wants to add a keyring that will travel with the box
hope it goes well and ill look forward to seeing the box and its journey again soon!

!!

I will definitely add a Canadian Flag decal once it arrives here.

Think it would be cool to add a bumper sticker, something local like a national park, sports arena, or something of the sorts to the box

It giet oan!

(legendary words from Henk Kroes in the Friesian language, by which he announced the going through of the 15th Elfstedentocht, a rare skating event that is as important in the Netherlands as the soccer world Cup)

Nice looking box! Looking forward to follow its journey around the World. Good luck guys!

I’ve just dropped the box off at the post office, it’s journey has begun!
Remember people can still join in, just let me know and I’ll add you to the list!

Maybe pm the next on the list with a heads up. Keep the stickers smallish so the can all show for awhile.

please count me in!

i think adding costs and time between destinations will help the WTB/WTS guys here also

Your on, if it helps UK to Canada was £4.67 (of the top of my head)

the K1200s I sent to the states was around 20 USD

let’s see how much sending the same box differs

Hmmmmmmm, this case looks familiar, is this the case that comes with the sipik sk98 with battery and charger sets?

Guess I have to wait next year for the package to reach here?(Assuming chinese shipment standards) LOL!

It’s just a standard “led flashlight” box haha! Hopefully it will be ok and will travel fast, have to wait and see!

I’ve been thinking about the issue about the tracking and I think I’ve come up with a solution, it’s up to you weather you send the box tracked, (recommended) but I can’t force you to do that because of the prices for some people.

So I think the best solution would be to take a picture of the recipt and send to the person to let them know (with their address/post code visible)
That proves you’ve posted it?!

Not the best solution but could be saving some people $30!

A small light box should not cost to much for extra tracking within a country.

The BLF Geocache as arrived!
