Then, to build and flash most attiny13a-based firmware from inside my repo, it’s just “cd person/project ; …/…/bin/build.sh foo ; …/…/bin/flash.sh foo.hex”.
And, of course, use whatever you like to edit the sources and manage files.
Afterward, you should be able to use everything in my firmware repo, including the build and flash scripts, with no need to muck with Windows or AVRStudio. This stuff is all designed to run on unix systems, so it’s basically native on Linux and OSX but it’s a little awkward on Windows.
I have a problem with the Offtime memory. The driver change the mode with first clic even though I cut off the power for a few minutes.
I changed already OTC capacitor, just to be sure it is right value.
Other features seem to be working correctly.
I am using layoyt v0.24 and flashed with star offtime v1.2.
has anyone been able to use any version of wight’s boards with a zener mod as was intended with the design layout? or has everyone had to stack c1 and the zener diode together? does only RMM/MTN’s board work with a zener layout as intended?
I measured both the capacitors capacitances and they were OK. I installed capacitors back and I got OFFTIME memory to work. I may have originally installed the capacitors the wrong way?
In any case, the driver works, so thanks to all!
Built my first one of these today. Had some issues at first I couldn’t get it to work checked every thing, diode direction, shorts ect… but could find any thing then I thought it might have been the firmware I flashed it with so tried a different one just to find out it couldn’t flash to the ATTiny13a I was using, swapped it and and hey presto it works.
Its now in a C8 with 25R powering two modes just need to get a dedomed XM-L on copper to finish it off J)
I tried one Here and it seemed to work ok but I didn’t pursue testing because I didn’t want to accidentally damage an ‘expensive’ fet, while the cheap ebay ones didn’t matter so much. Well, it was expensive, now they are offering free postage grr.
Once again it seems vesture is struggling to tread water in the shallow end.
I have used a lot of these drivers with the zener mod and they seem to work fine, but for some reason I have yet to be able to get a working single cell version.
Here is my board.
With this exact setup I get NO light what so ever. I built 2 identical boards to make sure it was not a bad component.
If I replace the 19.1K resistor at R1 with the 36K resistor used for the zener mod I do get light, but when I change modes into the higher up ones it stays there for a second or two and then cascades back down to the lowest mode.
I have tried this with 2 different firmwares and the results are very similar with each.
The boards and the FET are from Mountain electronics so they are proven components.
