I was just thinking today in general what a great group this is. I would like to say thanks to the moderator and for the people on this forum.
I tend to jump around from group to group depending on what my interest is at the time. Classic cars, turbo/superchargers, mini bikes, 4x4's Flashlights, 3 wheelers, machining, welding ect ect
Point #1 About 2 years ago i bought a old 3 wheeler to turn into a monster bike. I would go to some forums looking for information on the subject and 99% of the answers where from smart asses who sounded like they had never turned a wrench in their life. End result a few months later was this :)
So many people on message boards seem to think you need hundreds if not thousands of posts to even begin to ask questions or to know anything. Point #2. After rebuilding my 58 Chevy PU I wanted to add a supercharger. I didnt want to pay for a kit. At the time I was going to all the local pick N pulls and and getting all the Eaton superchargers from Buicks and T-Birds. I would rebuild them and sell them on Ebay. We also had the couplers manufactured for us by my brother in law who is a CNC machinist.
I figured why not, A twin supercharged 383 from junkyard parts
And lastly a simple project I had. My wife and I bought a couple mini bikes on clearance from a auto parts store, well as you can imagine mine need more power

I went to a mini bike message board to get some ideas most of the members where convinced you needed a $100 mounting plate to mount the $89 harbor freight 6.5 engine. Well if you know how to use a Hand drill and a jig saw you can save yourself the $100. A lot of the members where down right jerks if you said you wanted to mount it with out the kit! Apparently they didn't understand how to use simple tools. My wife is also a graphics designer and we have a vinyl cutter so guess what we did it ourselves. End result after the engine swap, gas tank re-mount, I extended the wheel base and added a jackshaft to lower the gearing. Also added the shock from a mountain bike to the seat.
In all these cases after I posted some pictures the nit pickers started in. After looking through their old posts none of them where actually contributing anything of value. All their builds where about the same. They do what everyone else is doing and take the easy way out. Then pat each other on the shoulder for a job well done.
I just cant understand the mentality of the gang up on the new person so many of these message boards breed. Ohh well my rant is done.
550-600ish I have never put it on a Dyno. Where it really comes alive is the Torque. Torque is almost instant. Its not fun to drive in the cold or rain
WOW! That's some amazing work you've done there! When I was a kid my brother had a mini bike and let me ride it a few times when he was being nice to me. This was in the Philippines, back in the 70's, and we were kings of the neighborhood with that bike. I specifically remember that the brakes was a steel plate that pushed up against the rear tire when you pushed down on the foot lever. :)

Hahaha now that's good times! When i was a kid my uncle had a go-kart with the same kind of brake set up. On weekends we would drive it on all the side streets down to an industrial island. It was like a ghost town on the weekends.

Really? have you had one of these engines? You can beat the crap out of these things and they keep going. I took the Governor off mine and rev the piss out of it all the time and its still going This is one of the few things I would actually recommend from harbor freight.
I'm trying to learn the ins and out of blower's on the cheap. It's hard to find any information about anything other than kits. That gives me some hope though.
I had a general CD I used to throw in on the subject of cheap blowers, mostly pictures, a couple youtube videos and articles I had found on the subject if your interested PM me your address and Ill send some info your way.
The eaton blowers are cheap at u-pull its. $100 in my area, bearings are all common sizes. About the only special item you need for a quick rebuild is the coupler in the snout.
