You are right Boaz. Finally figured out how to post pics. I knew that they were Sanyo’s but didn’t want to I’d them based solely off color codes.
Hard to tell from crappy pic but that insulating disk is purple/violet. Also has letters OFDZT3D and under that 087038 printed on the cell under the shrink wrap.
I would discharge one and then charge it to 4.3V if I get satisfactory results then I would use them, you can always build a battery pack for something…
So you agree that these are 4.3V UR18650ZT? They should be around 2600 mah when charged to 4.2v from what I’ve read. It concerns me that they have lower capacity. I assume that they are safe to use. I will run a charge/discharge to 4.3 and see what I come up with. Thank everybody.
Are you reading what's lightly imprinted into the plastic heatshrink ? thats the one you want to know if you're looking for the model number / type
It should have ....18650 in it too ...like ur18650w2 or ur18650A n39a or ur18650sax
lay the cell down with the top facing left and look for lettering /numbers running right to left on the plastic ....NOT under the plastic ..NOT on the cell ..But on the heatshrink itself .
There is nothing else on the heat shrink. Just Sanyo R1122. Nothing about 18650 at all. I based my assumption of model on the orange violet color combination.
I just opened a HP laptop pack (datecode 2009) a couple hours ago. Those are the exact batteries I get. They’re all bad though <1V, just my luck and these will go to the bin, but nevertheless they’re marked UR18650A on the wrapper.
Look closely at the battery wrap color in your 2 links.
They are Orange ! The battery wrap color in your
battery pic is Red ! You might have Sanyo UR18650A
4.2v—2150/2250 mAh batteries. You need to find
the actual model #’s on your batts to be positive
about what you have.
The cells that I have are for sure orange with purple. The pic just looks red. My cells have the same writing on the negative end like the pic in HKJ’s review.
I for sure want to know what model these are before trying to charge past 4.2v.
Yesterday I opened lenovo battery pack, similar cells to this up, red wrapper but light blue ring around + … 6 cells at 0.00V and 3 at about 3.8V
Only marked with: LABM2B8, 086862, and L06A!!!
I have the same cells from Dell laptop packs.
Orange wrap, purple ring, and the only stamped text is (I have some red Sanyo with blue ring, so for sure its orange)
SANYO R1122
014B
There is no xx18650xx stamped in the wrap.
Printed in black under the wrap,
OCFZ2D
O54O44
And on the bottom is F FD1
I have no idea what the are exactly
