Rating: GearBest.com [AVOID]

Personally, so far gearbest has been great. First order I chose express shipping, 5 days at my door. Second time I figured I would test the “free shipping”.

3 weeks from order to door. Poor packing for a bike light “head only” solarstorm x3. Just in a padded envelope….cant believe it arrive undamaged.

I havent ordered batteries from china yet but prices in US arent far off so I dont see the point. Their a big hassle.

I have to say GB has better turnaround time than Kaidomain. 2 weeks for them to get my order to the postal service according to the tracking (though I had tracking within 72 hrs)

But to date, and Im about to place another order (I take the time to make sure what I want is in stock before I order, hate playing that game) all is great.

Is gearbest still active on this forum? I’ve sent csgearbest two messages inthe last month and they have yet to respond. Also I’ve noticed they have not responded to issues posted here lately.

Update

After contacting Karen (gearbest) on BLF the issue was quickly resolved. Gearbest refunded the full payment. Another thanks to Karen and Gearbest for being committed to customer service and BLF.

On the recent Imalent DDT40 group buy, I ordered the US charger plug and received the EU plug. Others in the thread reported similarly receiving the wrong plug — EU instead of US and vice versa.

I reported the problem to GB, with a pic of my package and the charger, on March 29. On March 31 I was offered either an adapter or a $2 credit. I chose the adapter and received no response. Followed up with them yesterday, after a week, and was told the adapter will be shipped “soon” and to allow 30 days in-transit time. They made an obvious error but are in no hurry to correct it.

On the Courui D01 group buy, I purchased a tracking number for $1.99. The provided number never had any tracking, and GB finally admitted that due to an internal problem the tracking numbers they were issuing weren’t any good. Apparently they had known this for awhile but continued selling the bad numbers. They asked if I wanted a refund for the bogus tracking number. ASKED.

Nice products, good prices, need to focus more on service. Typical of the old saying: Good price, good product, good service — pick any two.

Well my rating for GB went from 5 stars to 1-2stars as of today. First emails have been ignored this week, then I pay the increased price for what is supposed to be the newest version of the yinding light. Only to get the old version. And at that they shipped me one with a broken mount and scratched face plate. At least the NW tint is correct. I’m gonna give them one more chance to make this disaster right and if they don’t they loose all my business (which sucks they were top of my list for lights and battery cases, had a order I was putting together but not anymore)

Hi tigris99, I’m really sorry if we have bother you, could you could you please PM me with your order number, so I can check it for you.
the improved button and mount only for the blue and red yindings and some units for Cool White full setting yinding ( there are also some old ones for the Cool White full setting ) , others are the ones without the improved button and mount.

Alright my faith in GB is being restored, they need to work better on their system between support, sales, etc because communication time is slow as each person/dept needs the order info but all is being fixed.

Thanks gearbest, mistakes happen, this one was just alot on 1 item. But younguys remain my go to place.

Hi tigris99, thanks for your kindly understanding and forgiveness

Hello, my order number WP1504011712302204 tracking info from 17track.net says that the item is "pre-advised" since 6th April 2015 and there has been no changes since.

The purchase is for a friend going on a trip in the end of April and it is IMPORTANT that the light arrives before then. Previous purchases I have made from gearbest all arrived within 2 weeks to my location in Malaysia since it is so near China. Why you sent it via Netherland Post I really have no idea as it doesn't contain batteries.

Hi xzel87,
it shows that Item arrived Netherlands according http://www.17track.net, it seems you will receive it soon.

I’ve purchased a Courui, 4 Android shortcut buttons, and a Sunwayman C22C from Gearbest. Shipping time really wasn’t bad at all. All products were packaged very nicely and safely. The only problem I had with my order is that the Android shortcut buttons didn’t work with my phone like it was specified that they would. One of the four buttons was broken in the package. It looked like it had been used. I really can’t complain because they were only $.52. Gearbest has some of the best prices on new flashlights, especially on group buys.

If it was sent via Singapore Post, or China Post, I would have received the item in 2-3 weeks.

It took almost 13 days just to reach Netherlands, in Europe. I'm in South East Asia. That's another 2 weeks to get to me from Europe to South East Asia.

For deliveries to my region from China it should not have to go through NL post. Just my input and feedback.

Thanks anyway for replying by the way.

a couple of days ago i submitted some reviews of batteries i’ve bought from gearbest, i gave good ratings to my keeppower/soshine batteries (26650/14500) as they had the correct capacity.
I gave bad ratings for the trustfire 26650 “5000” mah battery that only had ~3100 mah.

My 4 positive reviews have been published, but not the bad review…

UPDATE: my review for the trustfire battery have been published now as well.

Worst experience using online ordering. After providing payment information for a $175 order they requested I email them front and back copies of my credit card and drivers license. I cancelled the order and actually received a confirmation email the order was cancelled. Gearbest still withdrew $180 from my account (handling fee). I opened a ticket with them complaining about the withdrawal. They stated they would refund the money and another email stating they had refunded it. This was over a week ago and no refunds have been provided yet. Also, there is no further responses to my multiple requests. The phone number for support is only an answering machine. Stay away from this company.

I hope the powers that be are reading this. Again? This is just shocking to me. If it were my forum, to protect my subscribers, I would immediately remove all traces of this company except for a firm “Do not buy from” post. A very difficult situation to be in though. :_(

While it seems some people are getting their orders, its just the way the company is operated so poorly that taking a risk and buying from them could be more trouble than it is worth.

I have made two orders with them.

  1. A small flashlight. It took 46 days to arrive and had a spidered crack in the lens. Was not shipping damage, it was shipped that way. After telling them they immediately sent a replacement. That one arrived 63 days later in good condition.
  2. Ordered a kayfun v4 rebuild kit, took 74 days to get here.

For me its not worth the trouble to order anything from them. I almost ordered a Yezi and a Couri flashlights. Great prices. But if they can’t ship at least as fast as FT, I’m not willing to risk having to deal with any potential problems and wait time for the order.

Guys your going to bash a company for cheap prices and free shipping that takes time to arrive
Or better yet, join a forum and talk crap about a company because they wanted to make sure you weren’t committing fraud (which I’m seriously thinking may be the case being your so angry about it) because you gave them reason to. Then throw a temper tantrum because they authorized funds at time of order(which is a big red flag that you don’t know all this and throw a fit they want proof card is yours)

I could see there being an issue but all the people on multiple forums that buy from there that dont come to this forum (or bother posting in this thread) because they all have no issues. Other places ship faster but you pay more for it in the item price instead.

I just watched them DHL express a bunch of preorders so everyone had the items in less than a week, just to make up for lost time.

Dont sit there and complain because you don’t want to wait (I see this childish crap with highly reputable companies, because people see the transit time and expect miracles anyway).

But over all most feedback here bad. And some justified,.most just trying to find a way to get free stuff or just to place blame elsewhere.

I had my bad experience, but take into consideration time difference, language barrier and distance when dealing with these things. If you don’t want to understand and expect them to be the same shipping speed and easy service as amazon, then go buy from amazon.

Some complaints are indeed exaggerated.
But their shipping times are really slower than any other Chinese seller I have ordered from (with free shipping and cheap prices as well). From some sellers I get the goods within 3 weeks, on average it takes 30-45 days, from GearBest it often takes over 60 days, never faster than 40 days. It’s important to note it so people know what to expect when they order from GB. Usually I don’t care for shipping times and ready to wait to get something cheaper. If time is important I know to buy somewhere else.

I am grateful that forums like this exist. It aids in educating the consumer for making wiser and more informed decisions when buying. In doing so, word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Unsatisfied customers that happen to find these forums get excellent service for the most part.
Let us all remember, for U.S. based customers! Most/all(?) of these Asian companies are not bound to the same U.S. laws afforded to us in protecting the consumer. Most of these companies, if they were suddenly on U.S. soil, operating a business like these would immediately be shut down by the state attorneys office for dozens of violations. Owners would probably get jail time also.
So, we all take a chance in getting that good deal. The only and I mean only protection you have is Paypal. As much as most of us do not care for paypal, they are our last refuge in getting our monies back when the time comes that you get burned, and most people have. I think its a daily ritual now, or at least it seems like it, another seller on ebay making a mad dash with the cash. I have no idea why ebay still allows it. Its a simple loophole in their system that gets exploited. I can’t be the only one whos sees it.

This has also been my experience, delivery time in 6 to 14 days? Are you kidding me, they hardly ever even get it packaged for shipment in that time.
