16mm or 20mm noctigon?

I apologize if this has been asked before, I couldn’t find it on here.

Is there much difference between using a 16mm mcpcb vs a 20mm mcpcb?

I would imagine the 20mm is better, but is it by a lot?

The reason I ask is that a 16mm leaves me so many more options then a 20mm. I can take it and reuse it in other lights whereas I only have a few that will fit a 20mm without modding the pill. This is for a upcoming MT-G2 build. I plan on running it with a Zener modded qlite at about 4.5 amps.

Thanks!

The important part is that it has a DTP (direct thermal path) to the heatsink. The mcpcb alone only spreads the heat to the heatsink so the size does not make a huge difference. Take what fits our light best.

The 20mm Sinkpads have pretty narrow traces, while the 16mm Sinkpads (designed here on BLF) have much wider traces, so for a real hotrod light I would actually use the 16mm ones. This is not true for the Noctigons, those traces a huge on both the 20 and 16mm boards.

Guess I’ll stick with the 16mm. Thanks!

How about the SinkPAD Gen-II ?
