Here's A Great Deal On Trustfire TR-1200 With Extension Tube

The big heads single XM-L has a so-called 0.25 lux @ target of ~430m (48k lux @ 1m). That is by real measurements converted to 0.25 lux. Believe the 5 x XR-E (the properly driven one) does 330m or so, or 27k lux @ 1m. 3 * XM-L would lag just a bit at about 25k. But given enough cooling and drive, the 3 * XM-L are monsters as I have tested them to throw around 32-35k lux @ 1m.

Lumens wise, XR-E well driven at 1A each is 1200 lumens. Single XM-L about 850-900 lumens. 3 * XM-L about 2600-2700. All @ the emitter and assuming that your operating condition is pretty cold so that the output can be sustained. The triple XM-L in DD benefits the most from having the coldest possible ambient temperature possible. In fact if you are at say Mount Washington with snow falling on it or in a cold rainstorm, it could be brighter still <- these are rare but still possible practical scenarios.

The SR3800/DRY might not be able to survive a 0.5m water dunk for hours, but i have tested them in rainshower, absolutely no issues.

are you running 3 cells or 2 and what batteries are you useing? I have the 2 cell.... KEYGOS 6x CREE XR-E Q5 LED 1600Lm Flashlight Torch..is there much of a differnece in brightness with 3 cells

I have both those lights and I can definately tell a difference in the brightess of the beam and throw when I add the extendion tube and run 3 18650 instead of 2. I'm using the cheap Ultrafire batteries for now that suck. I have some good ones coming. I know I have had quite a few guys tell me that both these lights are only putting out around 600 and maybe 700 lumens. Well I personally think that is incorrect. But what do I know. I just know these lights with 3 batteries will shine a beam better than most lights out there. I honestly think this light running 3 batteries is around 800 lumens or so. That's just a hunch by judging it to my Coleman led light that puts out 137 lumens. This light with 3 batteries is about 6 to 7 times brighter than the Coleman.

It rather depends on the driver. The one in the SR3800/FFstlv2 is approximately constant power so adding voltage has no effect other than less stress on the cells and perhaps some other parts. If yours regulates to constant current, adding voltage will increase power.

For comparison, an XML on DD can do approx. 1000lumen though this drops significantly as cell is used up.

i have had the TR-1200 for a while now and it is a realy good light, 300 meters of range and it has good spill the driver is constant current (the drive seams to work like the TR-3T6 driver), i dont see a diffrence to my eye,s running 2 or 3 18650,s just a increase in the time i can run the torch on high.

mine draws 1.69 amps on 2 x trustfire flames and 1.03 amps on 3 x trustfire flames and 1.85 amps on 2 crapy ultrafire greys

the drop in screws in the the bezel on mine and then the bezel screws into the head, it can handle long runs i oftern run mine on high for 45 to 60 mins and have done a couple of 85 min runs, its a good torch imo and i can recomend it.

We a did range test last night with the TR-1200 with 1.7 amp current draw at the tail cap on 2 x trustfire flames batteries

300 meters (328 yards or 984 feet) of good usible throw with good usible spill.

350 meters (382 yards or 1148 feet) of throw

Well I can honestly say that is a legit 400yd thrower and then some.

This 5 led model actually throws better that the Keygos 6 led model.

Well here's what I have noticed. The latest single Q5 C8 light that I just got that was supposed to be an XM-L is probably my best brightest 400yd thrower. Now by that I'm saying it will throw better than any light I have on such a concentrated spot and light it up with authority. That white horse barn that is behind me at 400yds is what I use for my testing. This new light has got a good size reflector and is very deep. It will light up say half the barn and do it well. The TR-1200 will light up the whole barn better but it won't be as bright in doing so as the hotspot on the Q5. If they were to make these 5 led lights, like these with deeper reflector surrounding each led it would only throw better. I wished they would. But from what I have seen from this TR-1200 is that it is a very good thrower.

Well I won't waste my time disagreeing with you but I will say we just will have to agree we disagree. I know from what I have seen that this light will easily throw 400yds.

And I sort of live out in the country. It's pitch black out here with no lights. That only helps.

My C8 Q5 is good to about 100 yards. I define good as able to see details, not guessing at what is lit.

My STL-V6 is good to 200 yards, not guessing at what is lit.

I also live in the country, woods all around, and take my eyeball readings on tree targets up and down the road here.

My eyes may be tired in my old age, but the only thing I have that will throw 400 yards is my 12" reflectored 130 watt Halogen spotlight.

On a good clear night with a 1/8 moon in an opean field mine will throw 300 meters and I can clearly see what the torch is pointed at. We used new fence lines with a known distance and a measuring wheel to confirm it really helps to be away from the cities, towns and houses as they create to much light pollution, we whent to alot of effort to measure and record a bunch of lights. The light in question will out throw hard driven Xm-l,s just a different beam

benckie, I use a laser range-finder for distance measurements. I suppose perception of "throw" entirely depends on the individual's, well, perception.

Maybe this will stop the doubters. That's right at 380yds to that barn. I zoomed in on it about on 9 power with my camera. It is a little blurry, but that image expsosure is about almost exactly what I see with my eyes and I have way better than 20/20 vision with my glasses. Now to me if you can light something up at whatever distance and be able to tell for certain if there was a deer standing there that would be what I call lighting it up. Now I hope this answers your doubts.

And I will say that I now know the TR-1200 will out throw my Ultrafire C8 Q5 light after doublechecking.

I took one with the Ultrafire C8 but it wasn't as good at that distance. But it still lit it up pretty well.

I did take one with the Ultrafire C8 Q5 at a 110yds. And again this is about exactly what I see with my better than 20/20 vision. This beamshot is just a hair low off the neighbors pool and deck but you can see it lit it up extremely well and it will throw a lot farther than that very easily.

Now before someone starts to question the distance being legit here's the exact same picture but at about 20yds farther back and at 400yds. In the picture above this one I was standing at the neighbors driveway at the immediate left that you can see in the picture below.

people who dont own the light will just say im full of bs but the TR-1200 will throw and has good spill, on the same night i tested the Jetbeam BC40 i got 250 meters (273 yards) if you dont belive me this known seller claimes 300 yards (274 meters) here is the video

i belive my conditions where more clear then in his video but i claim less usible range and the TR-1200 will out throw the Jetbeam BC40 but i used the same measuring methods to test both and the on the same night we tested TF C8 XM-L, KD C8 XM-L, TR-1200, UF-2100 XM-L, USA168, Jetbeam BC40 and the TR-3T6 3 x XM-l

the torch with the most throw on the night was the TR-1200 and the TR-1200 has a constant current driver and is driven in the same way as the TR-3T6 so its got a good driver and can be used for long runs.

Well this photo I took regardless of who want to study shutter speed is just about how damn bright this light is. And this was only 2 18650 batteries. I believe the 3 18650 is a little brighter at least to my eyes, but maybe it isn't. That last street sign is about 250yds roughly. Now if that ain't throw I don't know what is. I'll take this light and put it up against a lot of $100 lights and probably even beat a lot of them for throw.

And here's one I just went and took at 110yds at my neighbors pool and deck. Now that is pretty close to what I see with my eyes. This is with the extra entension tube and 3 18650 batteries. And it is pitch black tonite.
