Thanks Krono. What did the internal charger charge the battery to and what happens to the voltage if the battery is left in the light for an extended period with the charger lead connected? I dont use the two I have. Why do I think I need another?

I’m not sure if it trickle charges once charged, or just flat terminates charging. I’ll try to pose the question to Neal/EE.

According to Eagle Eye, the on-board charger completely shuts down when battery is fully charged.

I might have missed it, but do you know if it steps down in Turbo? Is it basically the X6-SE driver? Would be nice if Turbo didn’t step down as it’s only 2.8amps.

I will test it, but I don’t think it will step down. That was only on the X6-SE…but I will confirm and get back to you.

There is NO turbo step-down.

EagleEye seems to be a great manufacturer. The X6-se edition is great.
I’m on the waiting list for the A6 groupbuy, and it looks even without special mods their stock lights are very nice already!

Thanks for the great review. I noticed this on BG and was wondering about it.
A few dumb questions I’m sure: (I have no experience with charging lights and haven’t really researched any with USB port)

Is the charging cord micro USB, the same as used for charging an android phone / tablet?

What kind of charger did you use to recharge in 2.5 - 3 hrs.? Wall charger? 1A or 2A? Or plugged into a PC USB port?

I may have missed this in the review or somewhere in the thread, how is the output of this compared to a BLF SE X6?

When I hold a BLF SE X6 it seems my thumb is resting right where that side switch is located on the X6R.

A group buy would be good if it pulls more amps than the BLF Edition X6.
Have you compared them side by side to see which is brighter?
No turbo timer is awesome.

I received my one today and I am more than happy with it.
From what I can see it is powered by 8x7135 chips to give 2.8a. Start stacking people

After disassembling it, how waterproof do you think the USB connector and side switch are?

the usb plug is a serious plug i think that would be good.
the switch seems good also but i can’t say for sure. i must say overall build quality is second to none.

on another note i compared it next to a blf x6 and it is brighter and pulls 500ma more
