ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

Xatu, do you know any Spanish companies that sell the large “fighting” Navajas? I like the Arabe profile (it’s like a folding Bowie).

One with a website that’ll ship to New Zealand would be good.

Really i do not know wich companies can make that old designs, but i can recomend you companies like “muela” and “cudeman” high quality spanish companies, especially fixed knives (Aitor, exposito, nieto… other companies too).

Thanks.

@steve or isti:
I got my orange EL01. It has two white nylon washers - every other EL01 of mine one white nylon washer and a metal one. Which one do yours have?

My torx 7 screw doesn't fit perfect (I ruined my screwdriver a few weeks ago and need a new one, to remove the screws).

One White Nylon one brass like metal. Do you have the means to measure the pivot, I’ve discovered something strange about mine!

If you mean you chewed the end of the torx screwdriver, just file it back some. It might fit better after filing too because they usually get wider further back.

^ Nice tip CRX. I need to remember that one.

Mine arrived with two nylon washers too. It doesn’t bother me because the knife flips quite well right out of the box.

Have you had a look at the pivot pin?

I tightened the pivot on my orange one and I had to press the flat side of the pivot screw against a piece of rubber to prevent it spinning freely.
This new orange version must be from a different batch because the pocket clip and the machining of the liners is also slightly different from the previous versions.

Did you have this? If so is it real Damascus?

I had seen this a while ago during an EL01 image search, then I scoured the web for quite a while trying to find a vendor for it and came up with absolutely nothing, only that one photo with a dead link.

Now after seeing your post (thanks) I searched again and bingo …here it is!

A bit pricey, though at least it’s a reputable seller (Hello Gift) bought my SRM 763’s from them several years ago.

I have a RAT II, which is the RAT’s little brother, but not too little! I am very impressed. For $19, I may just buy the big RAT.

What I am really wanting is someone to come out with a clone of the Benchmade Mini Griptilian! Love the axis lock, but the framelock is my second fave.

A Hungarian Spyderco? Where would I find them? :davie:

I don’t have this version but Steve must have it!

Have you tried to click on the photo in my previous post?

Fasttech has started to sell them too. According to their pics the blade seems damascus to me. Have a look at the spine:

They can source damascus blades from Pakistan dirt cheap.

did you receive all your orders from www.doubleknife.com ?

any problem, please let me know, thank you so much for your time.

cheers

did you receive all your orders from www.doubleknife.com ?

thank you for your time.

I just attempted to place an order for the South Africa Huger folding pocket knife.

The checkout won’t let me proceed because it keeps reading my address as being in the US even though I made sure it was changed to New Zealand.

Nice pattern, but the stated blade material is “stainless steel”. I tend to think Chinese Damascus offerings are most probably just etched standard stainless, not the real thing.

Is it me or EL-01 series have gone UP in price quite a bit?!

@doubleknife
Question is, if there is a need of registration to get all methods for payment. I don’t like ro register only to see, i can not use PayPal.
And i many shops, you even not.need.to register, cause PayPal got the adress….

What’s the name of the knife on the bottom row - 3rd from the left (beside EL-01) ?
And may i ask where did you get it? Thanks!

I’ve been wanting an ESEE Izula for some time but can’t justify the fifty bucks for a small chunk of 1095 that doesn’t even come with scales and has a moulded plastic sheath. Besides, I already have the very similar Eskabar that handles all the same duties.
When I saw a store on Aliexpress had knock off Izulas for less than eight dollars I decided to take a chance and order one.
Overall I’m pleased with the little clone, the finish isn’t perfect but I wasn’t buying it for a show piece. It’s made from some unknown Chinese stainless so I don’t expect the best edge holding ability but so far I’ve not put it to the test.
