It is going to be interesting to find out (i don’t think i will contribute much :D) what is more efficent, the lower flux bin of the XP-L HI but with a sustained CW going in to the RA, or the higher flux binned XP-L HD but dedomed but with a warmer tint + RA.
Or just the regular even higher flux binned XM-L2 U4 & XP-G2 S4 dedomed + RA.
MEM, check out if you haven’t already n10sivern’s test of some of the highest flux binned options we have nowadays, in the 1504 domed & dedomed. Very interesting, for example at least to me the XM-L2 U4 was a suprisingly good & efficient performer. I wish I had ordered more in my last order from Richard
My experiment with shaving the dome’s for the same effect is very encouraging. I used a 1mm washer as a guide, which produced repeatable results and I built a triple with it. Nice.
So my next step is to castrate 12 XP-L 3D emitters and see what the Noctigon Meteor M43 does with em. (I have the emitters and the M43, am waiting on the nerve to do it to show up)
Edit: the bond wire thing is an optical illusion, my sliced ones have the same effect.
Why don’t you buy 12 XP-L V6 2A & dedome instead? Cutters have them soon available, if you need them without the dome, that is what I would have done(if cutters wouldn’t have such crazy expensive shipping that is ;)). They should end up close to 3D, and then you have lots of rare 3D’s to use in other builds
To bad about the bondwire illusion, but at least we know now.
Again I'm lost with whats going on. The idiotic statement in my signature was copied from a flashlight spec sheet. The light itself would be lucky to light up 100 meters 14 kilometers. Who's trying to kid who. I thought it was humorous.
No not upset at all. I love a good laugh and just so everyones on the same wave length the 14 kilometer beam range and a bazillion lumens was from a flashlight seller, not Cutters.
