I used these: http://www.kaidomain.com/Product/Details.S022972
Well... what I mean is, the ones I used are whatever they sent me after I ordered that SKU and since it's KD there's not necessarily any relation between what it says there and what I got.
TR-801, 3x XPG2 R5 4C, FET driver, NCR18650 2900mAh (4.11v OC), 5A (input): this thing is crazy. At switch on it only does 33.x lux, but climbing rapidly - at around the 1:20 mark(!) it finally levels off at 61.3 lux, and hangs there for another 30 seconds, then finally starts to fall verrrrrrry slowly, 0.1 lux per about every 15 seconds.
The 3XP Z1, 3x Nichia 219B B11 SW45, crappy driver, crappy 16340 (only 3.93v OC), 3.35A (input): 33.4 lux at switch on, but falls rapidly (in line with the rate the current sags because of the crappy cell, it's not heat related). I need some real 16340s (it does 5.5A with a 20R, should do similar with an AW IMR, even if I don't swap the driver).
Beam profile seems fine even with the mutilated TIR.
Heh, too late! I ordered a bunch of crap this morning, including some of those and an assortment of Oshpark boards. And some end mills. And (finally) a cross slide vise for the drill press, so I can adjust the feed by just turning a knob instead of whacking the table sideways with a hammer...
Haha, not a vertical mill, just end mill bits for the poor abused drill press. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350462906524 :) I needed one big enough to cut more than 1/2 the diameter of the pocket in a pill, so the whole surface can be cut just by rotating the part and not have to reposition it and make multiple passes... it never ends up close enough to flat when I do it that way. And one of these.
Next month, maybe? http://www.ebay.com/itm/390734932029
Cracy numbers you are pushing in that little package. Sure seems the like a helluva progress that is happening on this forum for the last few years. And you are one of the guys who just keep pushing the envelope. TY for sharing.
Update: It does 4.65A with a AW IMR16340 & still using the little toy driver. Current drops like a rock though, and it does the same with an 18650, I don't think the driver is very happy! :tired:
Not done on this one, but on any built later they'll have the off-time memory mod, and memory disabled - I know those two things sound strange together, but what it does is exactly duplicate the stock Solarforce UI - always starts on high if it's been off for around 1/2 second or more, and every single half-press changes modes no matter how long it's been on.
