I bought from pandamimi and paid $39.99.
In her ad she claimed 3000mA draw.
It looks and feels nice except that the Trustfire Logo is crooked.
With my new and better dmm it tests:
2.8A on High with Xtar 2600
2.7A on H with Tenergy 2600 protected flat top
2.4A with Trustfire 2400 Flame
2.0A with Ultrafire 3000
With these batteries it never gets more than a bit warm.
I tried it with a pair of CR123A batts from Battery Station.
The flashlight works fine and gets hot within 10 seconds. After 5 minutes I switched off. I then tested all modes and they worked fine.
Switched on and off and retest modes 3 times, all OK.
Dumped the CR123 batts and they were quite hot.
Brightness with the CR123A was barely better than with Xtar or Tenergy 2600 but it drew 3.8 amps vrs 2.8 with Xtar and got hot fast.
I will not run CR123A again.

You were lucky stevetexas , you go twice amps than mine, that's the problem of playing chinesse lotto hehe.
It is quite cheap for the general quality, so I don't mind changing the driver.

Edit: Its day time now. Test it in my dark garage and WOW it is a lot brighter, i was getting 1.3A using a 18650.

Here is my hypotheses. The crooked logo run of X9s draw 2.8A. Yavi, is your logo crooked or straight? Not a high probability on this one but you never know with these lights.

Hey Ian, so I guess you got a new multimeter or used different leads? Cuz you said it was 1.13A before.
Looks much brighter than your previous pic! Same camera settings right? I'm still green. ;)

Diff Multimeter. Same Camera setting. The difference is the Target, the trees is half as before due to the Tropical cyclone that hit us.
I even feel its much2 brighter than the picture.
It lights up 250 Meters easily, was thinking how people in that Building/factory thought where its coming from.
Tried to do a Video of LD40 vs X9 KD drver but the result is crappy but easily shows the difference in brightness and throw. I think it more than triple the brightness of my LD40.

Ian2381:
Here's the results of my multi meter.
Xtar 18700 2600mah @4.11v
KE5 - 1.44
RQ w/ xml and Ultrafire driver rated at 2.5 A - 1.85
X9 stock - 1.13
Solarforce L2 w/ 0.8-4.2v dropin modded with XML - 1.7
AW 14500 @4.11v
L2m w/ 0.8-4.2v dropin modded with XML -1.60
Xeno E03 - 1.4
In the process of doing this I dropped my fav light (Tank007 506 Steel modded with R5) 5feet to the floor, luckily it survived damaging only the wooden floor. lol
I thought I forgot to buy something earlier today when I went to the mall, realize its the multi meter and soldering iron.
Any thoughts on the results of my test?
The problem is that this kind of measuring is very inaccurate. You get the right current when the resistance of the tailcap and the DMM is the same, and the DMM is accurate of course. If you use short and thick leads, sometimes you will measure much more current than the real when the tailcap is in the place, because the resistance of the tailcap is higher than the DMM+leads.
Vice versa if the resistance of the DMM is higher than the tailcap you will measure lower values.
So it would be the best, if you could equalize the resistances. But these are very low resistances, and hard to measure.
Do you understand what i want to say? My english is not good.

No, XM-L T6 Cannot get past 1000L
It get's 1000L @ 4.2A
Maybe in Cree's lab @ 0 Celsius with the best samples of T6 it can do better, but that's not real life anymore.

So you have two X9's Krikstas? You happen to have the tailcap readings on both?
THat driver mod looks impressive! Anyone make a driver swap tutorial for the X9 yet? ;)

Are you sure those are two different X9? Man you sure are fast, both photos taken within the same seconds of 26th minute of 19 PM. And an exact perfect match on the hotspot? Looks like it's medium then high on the same X9. Great job I guess.
