Philips 60w-equiv "Basic Bulb" LED bulb reviews

This will be a thread for reviews of your Philips "Basic Bulb"s. I originally was going to write my review but thought others should as well on one thread. (If this is a stupid idea then tell me and I will change it)

So far the Philips bulbs we've had have been working well. The most amazing thing about these is their plastic diffuser. The LEDs are on a small board at the bottom of the plastic "bulb" diffuser and all face one direction, but the bulb emits light evenly in all directions. You can't see the emitters, all you see is a perfect bright bulb of light.
They do get quite hot though. In hot environments, the plastic base gets hot enough to hurt my fingers after about two seconds. And the Edison screw base also gets hot. If that's how how the outside is... my gosh could you imagine how hot the LEDs and electronics themselves are? Someone should do a teardown AFTER a lot of use to see how the electronics cook.
In cooler areas they are cool enough to touch but still quite warm.

But these bulbs are really cheap. They last longer than CFL (I think?) and are the same price as many CFLs tend to be, while using almost half the power (8.5 watts vs 14 watts). Though it has terrible power factor, but that is usually not a problem. And they are lightweight, and contain no mercury. They aren't dimmable though, but who the hell uses dimmers anyway?! JK. Some sockets have dimmers but most circuits aren't on dimmers, so this is not a problem (this varies because some houses may have LOTS of dimmers, but most houses don't have many dimmers).
CFLs aren't dimmable anyway so we are used to non-dimmable lamps.
And also, they have no mercury making it safe around children. Speaking of safety, the deflector bulb is made of plastic so it resists falls and won't shatter into a blazillion pieces.
So yeah... good bulb so far.

What are your reviews?

Here's a teardown review of that bulb

Lower price is certainly good. I worry though, about it’s lifespan. Heat sinking looks poor. I wish Cree would end their damn homedepot exclusivity and start selling on amazon. I think I’d rather pay a bit more for Cree’s dimmable low cost flow through vented bulb. Teardown youtube.com/watch?v=0jtx7jhZLNM But really in most locations I’d like to skip both of these 60W bulbs and go for 75W or 100W Cree bulbs. Wish those would come down in price!

Yes I saw that video which is why I call it "Basic Bulb"

For some reason it doesn't really have any name, so it is hard to refer to. It's just the "Philips 60w equivalent LED bulb".

It's basic because you can't dim it, has limited life expectancy, cheap, the bare minimum in construction. I'd call that basic as well. BTW, I have over 40 Cree and Philips led lightbulbs in my house. Next time I go to Home Depot, I'm picking up a few of these just to check them out.

How has your Cree and Philips bulbs faired so far? Any 100W bulbs?
