members for giveaways: there are more benefits if/when you join the community!

This is what happens, if you have some free time, and nothing to do (waiting for new threads, new info, waiting for some sale items)

Already noticed a member (few hundred posts) only showing up in giveaway threads on CPF and BLF;

and low and behold. about 95%+ of his posts are for giveaways…

pretty sick I have to research that… call it strange interest

I do also love to walk away with the loot, but next question is what to do with it.

The first few time it may be easy to use the stuff, but soon you got more than enough and do not know what to do with it.

The first few reviews it was nice to get stuff for “free”, but today I only review the stuff, but do seldom use it (Do not ask me about long time usage). With maybe 100 charges* I cannot use all of them, but uses only the best ones that match my usage pattern.

*I do not know the correct number, I give charges away to friends and family, but mostly they run screaming away when I ask them if they need a charger or a battery .

I don’t know how you have time to do all the reviews you do. I know I have had to turn away a few… not that many. But you must have accumulated a ton of stuff you’ll never use ever again. I like you have given a bunch of my stuff away… but I barely have time for the few I do… I could never take on as much as you do. Kudos though, as your reviews have helped many of us here, who don’t have the testing equipment or technical know how to put chargers through any real testing.

Yes, these posts (and PM’s which I’ve also received from this member about items for sale) annoy me too. I guess now that the other side now effectively charges sellers might be relevant.

I like you have given a bunch of my stuff away… but I barely have time for the few I do… I could never take on as much as you do. One of the important factors is automated testing. It might take a week to test a battery, but I do not use more than one or two hours.

I will guess that my testing time is about 72 hours each day and only a very small amount of that requires that I do some work.

In the giveaways that I’ve run, the users contribution to BLF has never come into question. The fact that the user has registered and said “I’m in” or what ever is required, is proof enough to me that they like flashlights. That is enough for me. If they then want to sell the light or do what ever they want, it is fine by me.
We cant all “give” to the community. If you start analysing the content of users posts, most of the users here would rank very poorly. Quantity does not equal quality

I am not trying to troll this post, just trying to get a bit of perspective from someone who does not post or contribute much!

Well I guess that helps. I sort of automate a part of mine but I generally but in 12-20 actual hours into a review.

It happens man! I feel like sometimes most of my posts are for my reviews, so I can’t really criticize. That said, I do read a ton of threads here even though I don’t post. Maybe this person is like that? I feel like sometimes I don’t have much to add, so I don’t post much.

Dont doubt yourself as its members like you here that make this place a place not to be missed. Your uniqueness and honesty is a wonderful asset.

Talking about members here for the wrong reasons, there's no need to search the forum on who does the most giveaways. I just wonder if he/she is really generous or just after the publicity.

I'm just hoping I don't have much free time on hand anytime soon. Will be too busy policing BLF.... maybe I can make an ad for "private investigator!"

Seriously though, if you read through the lines you will see that most of it is joking. I'm not a stalker. Explanation: When I was in one of the latest gaw threads I saw a member which I noticed seeing at CPF as well, then checked his posts out, and made this thread out of surprise of my findings, because I remember seeing him often at BLF in gaws.

But actually now I'm quite interested in your background small light.
