The BLF Worldwide Market Thread

Alrighty !!! Anybody wants DURIANS?

I had to google that!

Noooooooooo!!!

Durian!

Wait what? I don’t understand that whole Sintel thing

I will be going to Ireland in a month so if you remember the chocolate bar, let me know

I bet you were surprised my people eat monstrous looking fruits!

The season’s coming yo an end! Not till Nov/Dec when it’ll be the time of the year again! It’s super delicious!! Don’t you wonder why it’s called the King of Fruits? :stuck_out_tongue:

Durian… the fruit equivalent of Ultrafire batteries… LOL.

Okay, follow…

1) Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite.

2) Blender people make free short movies for us to enjoy.

3) The movies are given a name, but also a “project” name. The project name is always a fruit. The movie named “Sintel” after it’s main character, is the Durian Project!

4) You say “Durian” I say “Sintel”. Get it?

Oh hhhahahaha the more we know!

Maybe a disclaimer about only shipping anything "Legal" to ship?

Anyhow, if anyone overseas needs something, I would not hesitate to ship to any country, as long as you know your import laws ahead of time and you are sure you can receive it. Just remember shipping out of the US is usually VERY expensive. Apparently we don't want to sell overseas, just buy overseas. Also, remember shipping out of the US, that in order to insure your package, it has to go one of the fast methods, such as Express mail or Priority Mail. Regular international shipping is not insured, so you could loose your money if it never got there and it could cause bad feelings if it did not get there, or got smashed en route.

I’m a regular buyer of stuff from overseas and the US postage is higher than most. The UK seems very good value. Posting stuff from Australia to OS isn’t cheap either.

Considering customs requirements is also very important as Old-Lumens mentions. We here in Australia have very strict laws on many items (lasers, knives, sling shots, food etc.) It seems to be growing each year too which is sad but they have their reasons.

I know there is a lot of restrictions on things (food wise) like fresh fruit, seeds, plants, meat, etc. but I think things like sweets, chocolate, condiments etc should be ok, for most places.

I’m not going to do a disclaimer of any kind, just to ask people to use their common sense, please check if you are sending something to a country… That you are allowed to send it to that country and it is not a prohibited item it only takes a minute to google it!

anyone get a cherry blossom seed?

I imagine that would be confiscated. In a packet should be ok but just a single seed, highly unlikely it would get through.

anyone wants dried mangoes? edit: anyone offers used xmls for 1$ each?

There’s dried durians too but they taste disgusting lol

Durain cake is awesome!

Can send Vegemite !

A little Irish store I visited once had a tiny little basket of imported Irish candy, I could help but try one. Few years ago, don’t recall the name at all. But it was good!
