"BLF" will get you 8% off - that's all I know of. I tried BGLFC and it didn't work on the X6R.
About the UltraFire's being pulled, Neal told me the lights will be returning under a different brand name. Not sure if that's for all the UltraFires pulled or not.
+1 bout the UltraFire cells - it's embarassing for sure. I get asked the same thing all the time.
Ooops, I meant flashlights, not cells. The cells are a total mystery. If you haven't seen all the pics/videos, it's some real interesting stuff. Showing people in masks rifling thru barrel on top of barrel of crap cells, finding ones that look like they can sell for new with a fresh wrapper. There are many grades of bad cells out there - some old ones simply rewrapped, some designed as fake with a small tiny charge to them, the rest is filler with sand or a powder substance for weight. Others are probably new or in some sort of 'new' state and have a 500-1500 mAh charge (for a short time), and wrapped as 5000 mAh. It's all within the scope of what they can do, and will do, and get away with it.
Original Xiaomi LED Light With USB For Power Bank Tablet for $2.69
Deal is part of flash sale, with the price being active for about another 3 days. I have one of these and am very impressed with the quality and brightness as are many others.
I’m not an expert on this but if I may guess a bit. Ultrafire is based in Hong Kong along with DX and FT. This could mean that most of the Ultrafire lights on those two shops are genuine. Banggood and Gearbest are not based in HK (or nearby) and could sell more fakes. Hell, some of them can’t even spell Ultrafire right.
Real UltraFires are not really budget, more like a Black Shadow or Solar Force level of pricing and supposed quality. Couple of years ago, someone here posted about the real UltraFire branded Small Sun T08 look-alike, but it cost about $50-$60, while the T08 was like $25-$30. Externally they looked the same, but internally night and day - much higher quality machining and parts in the UltraFire.
I’ve bought a few of the 501b hosts on FT and they are cheap quality. Lens is ultra (pun not intended) thin and the switch is a joke, I do think they’re worth $5 though. I don’t know if it’s a fake or not as I just assume that Ultrafire makes cheap crap too. I also got an old gen 504b that is basically Solarforce L2 quality, it’s a tank. And Ultrafire’s websites are a complete joke, I can’t take anything on them seriously. Have they sold one flashlight yet in their precious official store? Interesting nevertheless that BG completely removed all Ultrafire from the shop. Will be fun to see if they return and what they cost if that happens.
Looks that way - Meco is the new no-name name, but they don't have the ZY-T11 clone yet. I got in the one from DX and it's a good one - nice alum. reflector, lock-out on tail thread, etc. Wai'tn on BG though - they should have a better price.
Hey Tom, did you get the Roche LS01 yet? If so is it any good for modding? Like not glued at least and alu reflector. For such a big host it’s very cheap.
Don’t think he sells them anymore, kind of a pity. It was a good quality host. Got 1 of the hosts running an DD MTG-2. Was quite happy with the outcome.
Looks the same yes @ less than Simon had the host for. Think the host was just over $18. I’ll have to check mine, but I can remember the lens was quite hazy, as shown in the above link. Got it cleaned eventually. An AR lens would be great, but to find budget ones (around $3 a piece) in this size is a bit of a pain. Thanks for the link.
Thanks MRsDNF. I almost can’t believe it. I might have missed this, but I doubt if mine has an AR lens… I’ll look closely later today at mine. Where did you buy yours?
