Well see, thatās the thingā¦ when following the EXACT wording, you divide 30 BY half (which means, since you cannot divide by a fraction, that you invert and multiplyā¦ an elementary school teaching) So 30x2 plus 10 is 70. Iāve had teachers answer 25, even after writing it down.

The most obvious solution is to think of money. Divide $30 by 1/2 (60 fifty cent pieces) then add 10. As I said, it was used as a test question to see if people in finance were paying attention. Thereās an awful lot being done these days that people are clueless about without their computer to do the work for them.
