" I like big clips and I cannot lie"

PD -

Yes it is. But.... because my 590A1 is an 18.5" barrel, stock it is a 6 in the chute with 1 chambered. So now it's a 8 in the chute and 1 chambered. Just shy of a 11 shot. :(

I purchased it from a fellow member over at shotgunworld.com (MAX100) who thought he was making it just for a few people until he got inundated with calls. I'm not even sure if he's making it anymore. I liked it because it was the ONLY mag tube extension that was level with the barrel. I believe Choate makes mag extensions for the Mossy's that I've seen bring the count to like 15 rounds in the chute. Kinda goofy lookin' tho.

BTW, best thing about using 00 buck in your shotgun? Not much aiming involved.

same with bird shot, just not the same stopping power... they will feel it still, im sure on that

Oh, I don't know what I was thinking. I didn't know that Mossy 590's came with 18.5" barrels.

Mine is like 20", and the magazine tube goes all the way to the end on the barrel. It's an 8 shot magazine tube.

For some reason I thought you'd added 2 more to an 8 shot mag tube.

Great gun though, I like me my Mossy's.

Just to stir the pot. You know that they're BETTER than those nasty old Remington 870's, Remington didn't even submit a shotgun for the Government trials, the same trials that Mossberg passed 8-)

Keep shootin'!

The picture of a bullet coming out of that Smith is so cool. I don't care for S and W automatics, by the way.

Foy

didnt read the whole thread, but auto loaders jamming may be the ramp. the ramp aligns the bullet into the chamber. sometimes some file work or a good polishing can fix it. worked on one of my llama 45s

I have 2 auto Smiths the 4516 has a special place in my heart. It is basically an improved 1911 it was designed as a test bed for the 10mm for uncle sam and then necked it down for a 45 auto after the 10mm deal went south and Smith spent millions on all the machining for it. It is a solid chunk of stainless and has a cult following. If you have big hands and see one of these try it you might like it, they are getting hard to find.

If I had to own just one gun it would be a 12 gauge if i got 2 the Smith 4516 would be 2nd.

Can I ask how much is a 5.56mm NATO round (or a box of it), and also 20mm rounds? Thanks.

How about 40mm grenades, and M72 LAW rockets?

There you go again, 2100. Always interested in the biggest bang per buck and the longest throwers.........lol

No, because i fired them before during my national service in the Air Force (infantry based in there). It was for free.....we can't fire nothing here for nuts outside of the military.

I know what you mean. The UK isn't much different these days. No pistols whatsoever, No self-loading rifles (unless they are .22 rimfire) and Shotguns 3 round capacity max. Far different from when I was a lad.

5.56mm Nato goes for $7-$20 per box of 20 rounds the price varies wildly as does the quality of ammo. I usually buy 1000 round box when they go on sale for about $200, since ammo doesn't go bad if stored properly.

Purchasing owning and firing heavy guns like a 20mm requires a very expensive tax stamp that very few people buy same goes for full auto tax stamp for that is $200 I believe.

I see, so 5.56 is not that bad i guess, something like 1.75" consumer fireworks per round/shell. :)

50BMG is the largest round in the US (without a destructive device permits) although there are some old rounds that exceed .50 in diameter that are exempt. Kommiefornia 50BMG is outlawed. No grenades or claymores. No full auto but we can bump fire although it is complete waste of ammo.

They tried to make me purchase a destructive device tax stamp for my Street Sweeper 12 round 12 gauge after I had owned it for a couple years, yeah right.

So those youtube vids of those miniguns/bigger calibres, they are fired only at a gun club's range and locked there?

12.5mm is still plenty big, still give you that punch in the chest when 10m away. :)

I went to a club and rented some full autos for my birthday tons of fun but very expensive. They typically charge a buck a round and a 30 shot clip goes in seconds. I tried about 10 different weapons. I have some videos I can post if anybody has a particular weapon they want to see. The Glock 18 full auto 9mm pistol was my favorite and the AK47 bruised the crap out of my shoulder.

.50 BMG isn't banned in Cali, only 50 BMG rifles so in a stupid twist Semi auto M2 belt fed guns are legal but single shot rifles aren't. NFA weapons (machine guns, AOWs like shotguns that never had stocks with barrels under 18 in. in length (which are actually legal in California) guns with bores above .50 if not otherwise exempt, "sawed off shotguns" and silencers) can be stored in the home like any other gun.

If you want to go really big bore without the whole DD laws look up "12 ga from hell" it is about a guy who has built up some .72 in barreled "shotguns" and even bigger or you can look in to muzzle loading cannons, you can go as big as you want legally, people build bowling ball cannons from high pressure cylinders all the time.

Read his post on GUNCO. He does some wild stuff taking the Shotgun exemption to the limit. There some very talented and good guys on Gunco. One of the cool effects of the bowling ball mortars is the holes in ball make a whistling projectile.

Yeah, 50 calibre and bowling balls.
