I think the table is getting a bit too big - perhaps it would make sense to keep it, but also to sort them by battery in each battery section as an easy reference.
Comments?

By battery type would be good, as I tend to look straight to 18650 based torches.

Hi Don
For my part its fine as it is. When I put it in a spreadsheet I can change it to suit my purpose,
batteryorder, alphabetik order or whatever.

Don, you might want to look at using Google docs spreadsheet (or similar online app like it). It might have labeling/sorting features like excel. I'm pretty sure you can also make docs public.

I will investigate it.
Here's a Google Docs link that ought to work.
Sheet2
You can sort this any way you want if you log in with a Google account and go to List View from the View menu,Lightbox lux,Lightbox lux,Lightbox lux,Est. Lumens,Est. Lumens,Est. Lumens,Throw at 1m
Light,Battery,Turn-on,30 secs,2...
Please do try it and let me know.
I see "Anonymous User 1417" did. That was quick.

Viewing is good. On my sheets w/ write ability, I can sort with mouse-over on the column header, so anyone who wants to do so would have to make their local copy before they could do it.

Can't really make it editable for everyone as sooner or later someone will vandalise it. I am happy for anyone to take a copy and do anything non-commercial with it. If someone wants to make money from it, I'd expect to get paid but apart from that feel free to take your own copies and do whatever with them. On an online version I can easily add any fields that anyone would find useful and people can take what they want.
Edit: Have just started putting in retailer links. Where they still exist.

So you finally decided to try - nice!
Now I can reach your comparison wherever I am (yeah, I know it sounds like a cheap catch phrase for Google Docs )

I have big problems with Google (I'd rather deal with Everybuying!) which was the real issue. But it does what I want and they don't want money. In fact the Google Docs spreadsheet now has information I don't have in the parent spreadsheet. This was probably a mistake as version control is going to get complicated. But with a bit of experimenting I may be able to get what I want out of Docs which is essentially to collate all the information I can find about a given light and pull it together in one place.
And in a form that is still usable. Since I am usually using a 2560 pixel wide screen I can get more onscreen than most people and don't want to force people to scroll sideways. I totally hate that. I suppose he way to go is a hyperlinked sheet for each light so that fuller information can be given there.
Battery life needs to be on the front sheet and probably a star rating and build quality assessment so that people only need to dig into the lights that look like they might actually be interesting to them.
Information overload is a problem and I don't want to add to it.
This is all designing at the keyboard which is always a bad idea.
Thoughts anyone?

More numbers added (Aurora SH-034) to the spreadsheet here
Sheet2
You can sort this any way you want if you log in with a Google account and go to List View from the View menu,Lightbox lux,Lightbox lux,Lightbox lux,Est. Lumens,Est. Lumens,Est. Lumens,Throw at 1m
Light,Battery,Turn-on,30 secs,2...
This now contains more info than the parent spreadsheet.
Version control issues are going to arise (Hah! Have £%^$^$%&* arisen) soon so don't be surprised if the Google Docs spreadsheet changes radically in the near future while I sort out version control and formatting issues.

What I want to do is conceptually similar to embedding a photo but with a Google Docs spreadsheet.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0ApkFM37n_QnRdDU5MDNzOURjYllmZHI4M3JYMUVwM0E&hl=en&single=true&gid=1&output=html
Now how to embed it? The insert/edit embedded media button isn't helping as it expects video formats.
Suppose I could copy and paste the source for the Google Docs output...
