I thought I came across a sticky a while back that had the answer to this question, but now I can’t find the post so hopefully one of you can help me. I found my old sure fire 6PL in the back of my closet yesterday. Lost that thing years ago lol. I want to get a new xpl or xml drop in for it and get some rcr123s. The module it came with was the first gen p60led, rated at 80 lumens if I remember correctly, from back in 08 or 09. Does anyone know what voltages it will support? Like I said, I’m going to get a upgraded p60 for it, but it would be nice to be able to use this one still too. I was thinking about getting a host and giving the light to my son for his first decent light. Running a 17670 would give great runtime, but with an output of 80 lumens at 6v, a single 3.7v cell just won’t cut it for output. The two 16340s should give it a tad bit more but I don’t know if the first gen p60led drop ins can handle the 7.4 or only 6v. If anyone knows what the sure fire specs were I’d appreciate the info.

The P60L assembly is made for the 6P and 9P models, meaning that it was designed to work on 6 volt and on 9 volt. So it can run on 2 or 3 123A lithium batteries. IMHO it’s safe to use 2 x 16340s (7.4 volts effective and 8.4 volts max).
Thank you Henk4U2, that info is just what I needed. I forgot about the 9p model. Looks like it will be perfect for two 16340s.
On a side note, in six years (09-15) a p60 module went from 80 to 1000 lumens. That’s amazing :exmark:
