Hey Tom, did you get the Roche LS01 yet? If so is it any good for modding? Like not glued at least and alu reflector. For such a big host it’s very cheap.
Don’t think he sells them anymore, kind of a pity. It was a good quality host. Got 1 of the hosts running an DD MTG-2. Was quite happy with the outcome.
Looks the same yes @ less than Simon had the host for. Think the host was just over $18. I’ll have to check mine, but I can remember the lens was quite hazy, as shown in the above link. Got it cleaned eventually. An AR lens would be great, but to find budget ones (around $3 a piece) in this size is a bit of a pain. Thanks for the link.
Thanks MRsDNF. I almost can’t believe it. I might have missed this, but I doubt if mine has an AR lens… I’ll look closely later today at mine. Where did you buy yours?
Hi Werner. I’d try to stick with OP reflectors for XHP. I hate any form of that dark center spot and its really a pain with SMO reflectors. I believe this reflector is too small for a proper XHP-50 ‘Thrower’.
Does anyone maybe have proper modded lux figures for XM-L2 in this light? Would be interesting to see how this compares to the Maxtoch’s (M24 & 2X). The reflector is quite a bit smaller.
Mine came from the link above. I bought three as they were very cheap. I've had a few looks at the lens to double check if it is AR and it definitely has a very slight blue reflective tinge to it.
Edit. The Banggood link. Don't you love that name.
Edit two. I've just stuck a couple of protected batteries in this light and the tailcap will not screw on fully. Even with the brass pill on the spring removed it still does not do all the way up. There is about 4mm gap before the tailcap will screw all the way on with 70mm long batteries installed. It has mode memory and the reflector has a slight haze to it. Tailcap current draw on high is around 1 amp on high, .5 amp med and .12 amp on low.
True, and that was my first concern when I bought first NCR18650B protected cell (that was loooooong time ago), surprisingly I never had problems fitting then in any of my flashlights, they even fit my Nitecore MH20 and I was ready to bet they will not fit, good thing I don’t bet
