FYI Xiaomi Power banks & Banggood.

Yep, but what I meant is that there is always a tiny possibility that fakers have cracked the algorithm for caclculating genuine codes

So you’re saying the fakers cracked Xiaomi’s serial number generator and printed their own fake scratch&see numbers on boxes. It isn’t impossible but we’re talking about relatively cheap products. All this without Xiaomi ever realising that their legit serials are getting used on something they never made.

Have not received the power bank yet. Asked Xiaomi if it was a actual Xiaomi product and they said “no”.

Went to Xiaomi’s Chinese website and sure enough they have the 10000mah power bank for sale. So, maybe Banggood just does not have official approval to sell the new model power bank. Not trying to start a argument with Banggood. So in all likely hood I do have a genuine Xiaomi Power Bank being sent to me from Banggood.

Maybe it is just released for the domestic market and they want to sell out the old ones before introducing the new one. I am just speculating, offcourse

either that or you just talking to the wrong person at Xiaomi

No, that was not what I said  I am pretty convinced that it is genuine.

Tack Nisse!

They're selling the 10000mAh on Chinese version website. It use 3*Sanyo NCR18650BF,tipical 3350mAh.

So the 10000 is out time to start worrying about the one sold by BG and the one on Gearbest being fake not the real deal

Open it up. Bet you will find IMR 2500mah batteries inside

That would be uncool :frowning:

FYI (for US): Newegg Flash has the best prices I’ve seen on Xiaomi 10400mAh and 16000mAh. Free Shipping (8-15 days)

10400mAh for $15.99 - http://flash.newegg.com/Product/9SIA3EX2YU3270
16000mAh for $18.99 - http://flash.newegg.com/Product/9SIA3EX2YU3271

ZERO affiliation with Newegg, have been looking at a 16000 for awhile and Newegg Flash came up in google. Sale ends tomorrow (06.27.15)

I noticed this reminder at the bottom of the sales ad:

*_Warm reminder:

1.This item is an export product , it is without original number or security code

2.The user manual is in English, not in Chinese , as it is an export product

3. Before using it , please make it fully charged

4. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us before ordering it, we will try our best to help you . _*

Does item number one mean it may be a fake product??

Yikes - I assume New Egg would be legit, as the “Google Trusted Store” popped up during check out.

Hope this isn’t a case of failure in not reading the fine print.

I ordered a 16000. I’ll update here once I get it…

SORRY FOR THE THREAD-JACKING

Damn, I just bought another one of those 1000mAh. They are too cheap to resist. Now I have to figure out what to do with them.

My wife and I are heavy into these portable power banks. We’ve been replacing our aging NewTrent versions with the Jackery Giant+ and a few others.

I decided to check this 10,000 mAh power bank out myself. Just purchased two (2) of them from Banggood for $12.99 each. I’ll be sure to open up what I get and post photos some weeks from now.

Before the day was over I had also ordered the 5000mAh

Pic of one of my 10000mAh (from Gearbest)

Looking forward to your impressions of it once you charge and start to use it. Thank you.

Update on my order from NeweggFlash.

FAKE! Terribly, unforgivably FAKE. Wrong packaging, wrong logos, wrong printing, wrong cable.

USB ports (in and out) are loose. Something is rattling inside.

Not just a bad copy. Potentially dangerous.

Terrible. I’m glad the flash sale is over. I’m sorry I even posted the link in the first place.

Have contacted Newegg. Failing that, I’ll contact Google Trusted Stores. Failing that, I’ll try a Paypal dispute.

I’m hoping they just issue a refund. If so, I’ll tear it apart and post pics. Maybe in a separate thread.
