Cant wait to see the Klarus CH4S review. I recently bought a VC4 and Iām pleased with that although I regret not waiting for the CH4S review to see if that was a better choice. HKJ thanks for all of your reviews I find them very imformative and honest. Keep up the great work.
The NC-TGU01ās replacement is the BQ-CC25, but it does not have the same capabilities as the NC-TGU01ā¦ slower, not as fastā¦ no āquick modeā
The current catalog is a little confusing: it doesnāt list it as a smart charger, but it does list it have charge termination controlsā¦ overall, it made me weary of getting the BQ-CC25 (relatively easy to get), so I found a NC-TGU01 (for a good price) and havenāt regretted it since
I donāt think Panasonic will bring the NC-TGU01 back, the way this charger is built appears to be a lot more expensive than what the BQ-CC25 costsā¦ the flip up terminals like the NC-MDU01, dual color individual bank LEDs, full control logics, etc doesnāt appear to be too cheapā¦.
The BQ-CC25 appears to just be a BQ-CC15 with updated firmware to officially support Eneloops. Both of these instead has simple spring loaded terminals (not fixed like all the Sanyo Eneloop chargers), has only 2 charging banks, making it incapable of charging more than 4 cellsā¦ the only thing thatās better about it is its official Evolta support (which can simply be done with any new Panasonic charger, because there isnāt any C and D Evolta cells, only Eneloop) and 9V charging (no charge termination controls)ā¦ the 9V battery is not an Eneloop, not Evolta, and expensive (MSRP about $20 USD)ā¦ so itās not something to be missed
Anyhow, the NC-TGU01 can be found relatively easily used in Japan, but not so much in other countries due to far lower sales volumesā¦. maybe ChibiM can help you with this?
I hope that they are as good as the Miller ones but can charge protected batteries.
Looks way nicer and is a bit cheaper. Looks like a good travel-charger to me.
i looked it up, looks very impressive. basically it is a hobby charger from what i can tell. it is impossible to fully test/review a hobby charger because of the numerous settings ymmv
Around here I bet it is.
In my surrounding however I canāt count the times people wanted a bright flashlight but once they found out it required a specialized charger and the added cost of quality items decided their 2ā¬ flashlight was bright enough for their needs.
I got a couple of these and according to a couple of simples tests I could perform itās safe but was wondering how the guru would classify it.
But I can see itās not worth your time for the audience that comes here, I assume most of us have decent chargers to work with, so no problem.
This is outside your specified range of chargers for now, but noting it in case itās of interest later:
ā might be interesting because of the claims and itās cheap:
ā $22.50, free shipping (at least in us, dunno otherwise)
ā Claims to charge Li-ion as well as NiCd/NiMH ā ātripleā charger
ā definitely interesting to any ham radio owners, who end up looking for replacement battery packs (e.g. 7.2v NiMH)
