New XP-L High Intensity Emitter

Hmm so does anyone have pics of the triple XP=L HI leds mounted on a noctigon?
I figured before i go buying some new hype emitter i will see what the people with proper tools and knowledge to test it out.

I wonder when these will be available on single Noctigons?

Already are at least one place: http://www.cutter.com.au/products.php?cat=Cree+XPL+HI+Intensity

nice! I’m hoping rmm start selling them here in the US because Cutter shipping is super expensive

WooWoo! My XP-L HI order has just shipped from Mtn. this afternoon! I'm looking forward to getting these in...

@Mr. Nobody: just buy the triple from Mtn once they are back in stock; you know you will want more than one, and that way, you get three, then you can just reflow onto whatever size PCBs you want.

I've got a couple of projects I'm working on with these; one of the triple boards is going into a DD-FET S2; I'm using the additional board to salvage emiters. One to replace the XM-L in my STL-V2 style thrower, another (hopefully) for a future UltraFire 1504 build, and the extra as a spare in case the unthinkable happens...

RMM will be selling them on a single Noctigon soon.

What kind of kcd will a good KD C8 do equipped with this emitter, I wonder?

100 kcd+ I'd think. 100 kcd is what I got on a dedomed XM-L2 U2 in a good C8 running bout 4A.

Stock C'8 do bout 25 kcd, good modded C8's do bout 50 kcd (domed XM-L2, 4A or so).

anyone plan on DDing this emitter? I know I am

I’ve got a batch of XPL HI V2 1A and XML2 U4 1A’s on route

KD has the HI V2 0B here: http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S024235, but seems quite pricy at $8.59.

0B is not 6500K, it is around 8000K, give or take some looking at the XP-L datasheets (binning)

Do you mean XP-L HI datasheets, not XP-L? Looks like bin and temp ratings drop with the factory de-doming.

Binning and labeling for XP LEDs datasheet. 0B is a bin, so all LEDs that fit those X and Y coordinates for what is called 0B are label as such.

:Sp

That was then, this is now. The new XP-L HI changed the datasheets game.

With the loss of the dome at the factory, the output binning is not the same as a standard XP-L, hence, new datasheets for the HI.

Loss? It was never there.

Ahhh - I'm thinking KD has the interpreting the CREE label incorrectly - probably tint is 1C, and 1C is in the 6500K range. Look carefully at the CREE label in their picture:

XPLAWT-H-1C0-V20-0B-0001

Kind of, sort of match's up to CREE's listing on page 59 here: cree.com/~/media/Files/Cree/LED%20Components%20and%20Modules/XLamp/Data%20and%20Binning/XLampXPBL.pdf for the E1 kit, V2 code. In other CREE labels, the tint is in the 3rd grouping (here: http://intl-outdoor.com/cree-xml2-u3-1a-bare-led-p-823.html), so should be 1C.
