mrsdnf 2015 BLF comp build updated post 5, 20.9.15 The light is now finished.

That’s where the welding mask comes in handy !

Ignore my advice, it looks like I’m you’re only competition right now. I probably subconsciously gave you a bad idea, since my subconscious probably already knew it was going to have me enter. That guy’s always doing things when I’m not paying attention.

Just kidding, although I do have to say, I’m liking my chances for at least getting second place.

I'm a judge in the comp so yes you will be second. I'll be third out of the two entrants. The free wifi runs out in a few hours so heres a quick update. We spent most of the day here and are heading down to the Hudson river tonight for the fireworks. The Intrepid aircraft carrier and other exhibits on and around it was an amazing experience.

The start of another great build from the master. Looking forward to it.

Is that you in the suspicious looking hoody by the Dasani machine?

No, I was behind the camera but I believe we need n10siverns zombie gun slayinator along with your laser gun light to fight the hooded evil ones.

I didn’t recognize either of the two grinners looking at the camera.

Ones a pom. Ones my dad. Sometimes I dont recognize them either.

Last nights festivities on the Hudson river. Later it was down to Times Square to discover the Revlon picture love thingy whatchamacallit.

I see what you’re doing here! Build a personal interest story, envelope the reader with pics of DAD, and the Great American way, fireworks, apple pie, hot dogs, then give the reader the idea you’re running out of time, “how can he possibly build this light while touring America?” Underhanded tactics, dispiccable! :stuck_out_tongue:

Henry wins by default, MRsDNF DQ’d!

(hope you’re having fun)

Hi MRsDNF’s Dad and Pom(what’s a Pom?)

Makes me wonder what you call us….

(pomegranate, rhymes with immigrant, derisive slang for a Brit that recently immigrated to Australia or New Zealand)

Come on Dale. Your being just a bit unfair here. Would an Aussie do anything like that?

Todays instalment involved doing lots of this,

to see breathtaking sights like this.

I should have added what a Pom is. Pom is short for Pommie, an Englishman.

Cheers David

MRsDNF for the win! Taking his old dad for a tour through the States, posting cute pictures of all that, softening up the judges, all it needs now is a mediocre flashlight build for the home stretch!

KKW, you have some catching up to do. A genius flashlight build will not be enough, foto's of your fabulous life are needed, perhaps of you doing charity work for the local community? Do you have any famous friends that you can mention sideways in your build thread?

I’m storing up cute pictures of my 6 year old son on vacation; beach, animals, the US’s oldest town on the 4th of July. I’m going to unload them all at once when I’m ready for a boost in my score, like a MRsDNF slayinator.

Today's update tonight may be a little more sombre.

Small LEDs and multiple reflectors ( or lenses) is the way to get the most throw for size. Small LEDs can handle more current per area, because they cool better than large ones.

I hope you don’t catch one of those ’merkin accents…
like y’all :stuck_out_tongue:
