BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

And I’m in for one SS/Cu set in WW. Thanks!

Add 1 more ss/cu set for me and 1 HAIII set

Kronos,

Looking through the list of names I see people After me listed, but not mine.

I was post #74 - Did you miss me?

Thank you,
-Chuck

You are #24 on the Al list…am I missing something?

Sorry…just the X6.

No, I’m missing something:-(

Very sorry - I am not used to there being two lists.

Sorry to bother!
-Chuck

This option would only be meaningful if we could get a lens without AR coating.

Also, the Nichia 219 has nowhere near the output of XP-L. It might get 500-600 lumens instead of 1400-1600, so probably not a great option. But I’d still love a non-AR lens for XP-L, to make the neutral white tint look white instead of green.

… any chance we can get plain glass lenses instead of AR-coated?

Hah, I was too late; I was hoping I had signed up early enough to get 13.

However, 17’s not bad.

Maybe I should post-snipe so I can get #42, if I’m not already too late. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

krono, you opened a whole new can of worms by assigning serial numbers to individual people. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that logistical nightmare!

The B/C tints aren’t really all that green. Usually it’s the AR lens coating which makes the beam look green, and the A/D tints are red enough to partially compensate for the lens tint. If you have green-ish lights you don’t like, try removing the lens to see how it looks, or replace the lens with a plain/bare glass one.

AR coating increases overall output, but it also changes the tint and sends out some frequencies out at a different angle like a prism. The easiest way to check this is by looking for a blue ring around the outer edge of the spill beam, or checking if things reflected in the lens during the day have different colors than usual.

This pic shows the double-sided AR coating on the BLF X6. It’s reflecting white sunlight coming in between window blinds (through a mesh screen), but the reflection looks blue. The AR coating is visible on both sides of the lens:

While the light is on, the edge of the beam looks something like this (but this shot is an EagleTac D25A w/ N219B):

If I take the lens out and put it on a white cloth, it looks green (this lens was from an Olight S10 before they fixed the AR green issue). AR coated on the left, cheap plain glass on the right:

I tried this same thing on the BLF X6 lens, and results were similar but not as severe. So, it has a better tint than the old Olight S10 did, but it still gets a small green shift regardless of what emitter is inside.

BTW, to see the blue reflections, simply view the lens from the correct angle with a light source visible in the reflection. The required angle is the same as the blue halo shown in the second picture.

Kronos - many many thanks for getting this thing going!

The stainless and copper sets are going to be epic!!! With the utmost respect to the custom light makers...these sets are going to be steal. A single custom non-aluminum host will cost more than one of these sets...and these are two complete working lights. Come to think of it...any custom host can run more than a complete SS/Cu set.

Anyway you slice it these will make great gifts but my fist SS/Cu set is for me! I will probably add more before the list closes. Thank you again!!!

Krono, on the second list switch me with Pregulla, so I’ll be number 22 on both lists. He is cool with it thank you very much.

Add me for another AL set, CW please!

You guys are killin’ me! And so will the other half when she finds out… But put me down for one of each (ss/cu and alu) in NW. Possibly more if payment doesn’t come due at the same time as the other GB’s!

OK I have to jump now, 2 SS/Cu plz, because I have to get #42! WW of course

My wife was about to kill me when she found out I was hosting yet another GB…lol

No way…this will take months. The A6 and the D80 should be much sooner than that.

Sign me up for one alu set in nw please.
Thanks again krono for all your GB efforts.
Just be careful tending enough to the missus now…

Well months may be a problem if I’m accepted into the Paramedic program I just applied for. Better start rat holing change now! Will they accept rolls of quarters, dimes and nickels by chance?!

1 ss/cu set nw for me please

1 x SS/Cu NW

Thanks

I’m in for one Al NW set.

Thanks
