BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

one set of each.
spot #55 for each
NW for each

please include my name
1 ss/cu - NW
1 ss/cu - CW

thank you

If the first set doesn’t make 200, put me down for CW on the second set (that needs a minimum of 100)

1 HAIII Aluminum Set WW may change to NW later.
Watch the engineering specs on the 14500`s the new keepowers are getting fat and long
I have a few lights that they will not even start into the tube.

Krono: think you missed my signup for one alu set in post #93

Why not both? You know you want to .

All kidding aside - no way these lights do not make the minimums ,,,, and then some.

Kronos, Dale and JM put a lot of thought into these lights. It would be very difficult to find ways to improve them :) As a matter of fact if one were to buy the internals alone it would be more than the HAIII set......and when you consider the SS/Cu.....well, just try and buy Stainless or Copper hosts for $20 each - just not possible.

I’m thinking that the 14500 light will have to be an “IMR” only light, because of the amp draw.

IMRs come without protection, so Not fat.

The typical protected 14500 will only allow for about half of the draw for the FET driver.

1 SS/Cu set in NW, please.

Great!!

List updated in post 164

Keep em coming ! :)

Sounds awesome!
Count me in for 1 for SS/Cu NW please. Thanks!

Chuck post 169
so the 14500 driver needs low voltage protection ?

The 14500 light will have the same driver as the 18650 light, the LVP will be built in like all of these drivers from Wight and ToyKeeper.

And yes, as an FET direct drive driver it will be highly beneficial to use a non-protected IMR 14500 such as the AW IMR14500 in a red package. To wit, there are no better 14500’s at this time but I could be mistaken (it’s happened before!)

@Dale,

I dunno, because I don’t yet have any, but RMM seems to really like these:

L I B! I actually have some of those!

Time to do some testing, I’d forgotten all about em… pulled my little Rook just yesterday and topped off the cells and it had these in it. I didn’t even think about it.

I’ll do a couple of checks on a chopped MiniMag triple to see how output is with the AW Red IMR vs. these Windyfires…. be back…

Edit: I also have a SS Maxtoch 14500 light with a 15mm FET driver and XP-L V6 3D, will test that with 3 cells and see how they stack up, should be very relevant to this little proposed copper light. I have an Efest IMR 14500, AW IMR14500, and the Windyfire 14500. They’re all on the charger, same XTAR charger, so we’ll soon see. Will still do the triple for the difference in demand…

My Efest V2 IMR14500 is taking forever to charge, so here’s some results on the AW and Windyfire which will be the top 2 anyway.

MiniMag light chopped by Texas Lumens and built by yours truly, triple XP-G2

AW IMR14500 (Red) 5.59A for 1959.6 lumens
Windyfire IMR14500 5.50A for 1897.5 lumens

Ultrafire C3 SS 14500 light, with XP-L V6 3D and Wights 15mm A17DD S08 FET driver

AW IMR14500 (Red) 4.13A for 1021.2 lumens
Windyfire IMR14500 4.23A for 1048.8 lumens

So, the Windyfire seems to do better in a single emitter FET style light while the AW nudges it out in a Triple set-up. The MiniMag has one of the older FET drivers.

Being as how the Windyfire is easy to get from Richard, I’d say it’s the hands-down choice for this proposed little K6.

I’d like an aluminum set, NW. Thanks

I want a Al set #42 to match my SS/Cu set, WW, and switch with Nisse, who has expressed interest in #100 if he doesnt mind!

1 x SS/Cu CW, please!
Thanks

  1. Copper host, 14500 sized, same form factor as X6, but scaled down
(I thought form factor was size so how can it be scaled down?)
(I get it is smaller ie 14500 vs 18650 but is the head the same size or also smaller) sounds like a dumb question but I am unclear about it.
  1. I want the 14500 in copper NW I am willing to go in and split a set (because I as yet can not buy just the copper :_( ) any intrested parties?

Same form factor here means shape and proportion. The object is to create a miniature X6.

Good luck on that wish, the smaller copper light is going to be in heavy demand! An easily pocketable 1000+ lumen pocket rocket? Yeah, good luck with that.
