Under $10, 1x AA/ AAA/ 10440/ 14500 flashlight reference

Mmm, the under $10 part is definitely a typo…

well actually the XP-2 costs less than the XP-1
4.50$ vs 4.54$ on Aliexp.

Nice, I pull back my words! Thanks for the info.

There’s old info on older versions of the buckle light here: Closet buckle light owners; need your comments, please | Candle Power Flashlight Forum

My standard query (grin) — what’s the diameter of the drivers in any of these lights?
I’m always looking for pills that will take the BLF “SK68” 15mm drivers for AA lights — to use with 1AA or with Frankenstein’s Modder 3xAA combining cheap battery tubes

Please tell me how to open it.

My KD Buckle V6 had some threadlocker on the front part where it seperates from the head. If you look at your light, you should see two grooves in the knurling. The rearmost groove is where you unscrew it to add a battery. The front one is where the head comes off. The “middle” section between them is the “pill”, it has the emitter and the driver. I guess the only way to remove the driver is to take a skinny punch from the front of the pill, through the wire holes, after you desolder the emitter.

If your front section does not twist off from the middle pill section, try heating it up with a soldering iron for a couple of minutes and using a pair of gloves to twist it apart then. The threadlocker was red on mine, so it should not be too strong anyway. The reflector screws out like a Convoy S2 pill.

I really like the KD Buckle V6, a very nice light for the price. They are out of black currently, but the other colors are good too and the anodizing is very well done.

Thanks ReManG

Hi

Couldn’t resist,I had to order this one http://www.dx.com/p/cree-q5-3-mode-310lm-white-1-led-waterproof-flashlight-w-90-degree-pivoting-head-blue-1x14500-122723#reviews

Somehow it reminds me of the Smurfs,so cute.Btw has anyone modded these lamps?

There is some information: Adjustable Angle Light - disassembly, mod, beam profile (Since it is rather old, most of the pictures don’t show anymore)

Thanks for the link.

I don’t have anything to say other than “thank you to all for your contributions in this thread!” I now have a bunch of new “toys” to consider ordering.

UltraFire AT-007 From fasttech
hollow pill or solid pill?

Thanks man. Nice review. How many lumens you estimate high mode to be at (aa and 2aa)? Looks like a perfect gift to non flashaholics! Might need to stock a few

^ Wish I could give you some numbers, but I'm real bad at estimating lumens. I need to make a measuring sphere or something.

Ah its ok man. Np. I’m still for the lookout for a good AA/2AA flashlight for non flashaholics as gifters.

^ I hear you. The AAA and 2AAA are no-brainers for gifts. The AA and 2AA, however, are just candidates for consideration. They need modes and a clip.

Seems like all the energy goes to either AAA's or 18650's. Please update us on your search if you find something good. Other than C3's, I can't think of anything better at the moment.

Aight. Let me know if you find some too! AA’s has more juice and is even more readily available than the AAA which as of course so common! Also, AA’s have a decent size which helps in handling/heatsinking and not getting lost.

Hadn’t checked Tomtop for a while, they have some
