Knowing how to make an excellent 5 alarm chili on a cold winters day can be CRUCIAL! Just like knowing exactly how much Vodka to pump into the watermelon on a hot summers dayā¦.
Please note: This is the best I can do with the list so far. PLEASE understand that I did not do anything with "preferred" placement except for SS/Cu and AL HAIII
I have to inform everybody that the XPL Hi WILL be available but I do not know what tints will be available. The availability of specific tints up to now really sucks and being able to source 500-1000 pieces is difficult so while if someone prefers the XPL Hi in a certain tint please understand that at "go time" they may be unavailable.
Nah...don't hate yourself...that is unproductive. I think the large custom group buys for this year are coming to a close for receipt by the Christmas season but there is always next year that needs to get started on :)
The driver is an FET +1, meaning the lower modes are run on a single 7135 chip for efficiency and the upper 3 modes have the FET driving direct driveā¦ well dd for Turbo mode. So yes, the lights will be driven as hard as whatever emitter lands in em can do.
PWM to lower the mode is not normally efficient on an FET driver as it is having to control that modulation from the full amperage of the driver. So if weāre pulling 6A then moon is modulated from that 6A. The FET +1 driver uses that single 7135 to run moon and the next 3 levels so that only 380mA is modulated, much more efficient and a LOT less heat burned off. ToyKeeper wrote the firmware to use percentages of the chip plus the mosfet in the middle modes to optimize this efficiency, creating a well spaced group of modes that are as pleasing to the cell as to our eyes. That is what makes this so special, and with the reversing feature in use on a regular tail clicky, very unique as well.
Thought Iād throw that out there for those that are new to the A6 firmware from TK. I LOVE this driver! (driver a design of Wights, who is on hiatus at the present time.) I even have a 10mm variant of it in my Titanium Texas Poker you see in my Avatar. Itās a 10440 cell light that pulls a little over 3A for 1117 lumens. Even as a twisty, the reversing feature still works and I have the hidden modes and batt check. Gotta love it!
Point being, the small 14500 K6 will be as kick butt as that cell size can deliver, and itāll be a worthy sidekick to the larger 18650 X6 to be sure. Epic!
Dale - we can explain till we are blue in the face.....it's the experience that have been fortunate to have had before most others. Once they get some of these in their hands then they will see the light...Yes, pun intended. :)
BTW, I know this will soon get lost in the endless pages of posts, but if anyone is curious hereās a diagram showing the BLF A6 interface (which will probably also be used on the new X6 v2).
If the light is definitely going to use this, perhaps the diagram should go into the first or second post somewhere.
Basically, you can choose whether you want 4 or 7 regular modes and whether you want mode memory. You can move through the modes in ascending or descending order based on how long you hold the button down. The modes evenly span the emitterās entire range of output from a sub-lumen moon to a direct-drive turbo. No PWM is visible. And there are some hidden blinkies including a battery check. For those of us who like to mod things, all the code is open so people can use, modify, and even sell it as long as they pass the same freedoms along to others.
My darling dear Please do not think that you did not have any influence on this light set . YOUR coding efforts and YOUR UI have raised lights to another level that many including myself thought would be possible - especially with a Attiny13. I can only imagine what could happen with more room :)
Not to discount, short-change or even forget everybody else that contributed on this forum.....Yourself, Wight, and Dale have proven the latest changes possible. I can only dream of what will happen in the future with the other very creative and capable people we have on the forum. The trick is tapping that ability for these tasks. Collective mind and its capabilities are enormous! That is why Kronos keeps asking for others to get involved AND voice and even show ideas
