BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

Hah, I’m not even involved in this one. I just want at least one set when the dust settles.

(okay, I might do some little tweaks or calibration to make it work better on the new light, but otherwise I’m not involved…)

I should probably sign up for more sets, choose people to give them to over the holidays, etc… but mostly I just want one set for myself.

BTW, I know this will soon get lost in the endless pages of posts, but if anyone is curious here’s a diagram showing the BLF A6 interface (which will probably also be used on the new X6 v2).

If the light is definitely going to use this, perhaps the diagram should go into the first or second post somewhere.

Basically, you can choose whether you want 4 or 7 regular modes and whether you want mode memory. You can move through the modes in ascending or descending order based on how long you hold the button down. The modes evenly span the emitter’s entire range of output from a sub-lumen moon to a direct-drive turbo. No PWM is visible. And there are some hidden blinkies including a battery check. For those of us who like to mod things, all the code is open so people can use, modify, and even sell it as long as they pass the same freedoms along to others.

Oh! Haha sorry about that! I kept thinking that my name was supposed to show up on the very first page! Thank you.

My darling dear Please do not think that you did not have any influence on this light set . YOUR coding efforts and YOUR UI have raised lights to another level that many including myself thought would be possible - especially with a Attiny13. I can only imagine what could happen with more room :)

Not to discount, short-change or even forget everybody else that contributed on this forum.....Yourself, Wight, and Dale have proven the latest changes possible. I can only dream of what will happen in the future with the other very creative and capable people we have on the forum. The trick is tapping that ability for these tasks. Collective mind and its capabilities are enormous! That is why Kronos keeps asking for others to get involved AND voice and even show ideas

I hope this isn’t too much of a hassle… But can I switch to Neutral White? I had originally chosen Warm White. I’m actually still undecided, but I think the Neutral White is a good middle ground.

Change? Changes are only allowed if you add another set. Lol.

Just kidding.I will change when I get back to my desk.

Well this is embarrassing. :frowning: But I’d like to keep the warm white. I’m sorry. :_( I just picked up and compared a warm white to a Neutral White light I own, and I loved my WW light more. I guess now it really must be a hassle. Haha sorry again!

No worries Jes :)

1 x Al set in NW ,thanks.

Hello everyone!

I’m back from Puerto Rico. My family and I took a wonderful vacation down there, and it was very nice. I had limited internet…so I tried to keep up as much as I could, but I was determined to spend a lot of time with my family. Beautiful country and beautiful people there!

A BIG thanks to Bugs for keeping the list updated for me! Tending the list can be a huge time killer, so I appreciate him and all the other talents he possesses! Thanks also to Dale and Jmac for answering questions and helping the other BLFers with their concerns and questions.

I think we are off to a great start, especially since we don’t even have samples yet! I believe we will get the necessary totals once we receive samples. THIS LIGHT SET IS GOING TO BE EPIC!!! Sorry for yelling…but it seemed appropriate

Here is the copied list from Bugs…let me know if I need to make any corrections. I am planning on updating the master list (at the end of this OP) and catching up with all the posts in the next few days. So…please be patient with me! Please keep the ‘Horse-Trading’ to a minimum. It is really difficult to keep track of, and I don’t seem to have as much time as I used to :frowning:

(updated in OP)

Welcome back Krono - hope you had a great holiday and safe journeying. The forums aren’t the same without you! Bugsy must be delighted you’re back; I think he’s probably had just about enough of all these lists by now!

Bugsy was doing an awesome job keeping the lists up-to-date, and began annotating requests for swaps and positions. He said he was happy to do so (keep note, not swap), as long as both requests and approval were stated in the thread by both parties.

However inevitably a few people took issue with the requests (some considering it spam), and there were questions raised about the viability and value of such list positions and swaps. Alas it seems Bugsy stopped recording them, some got missed or mistaken from post 185 onwards.

If it’s agreeable with you Krono, I’d be happy to alleviate the overhead on tracking position swap requests/approvals in a single updated post, which you can then update into the master list at your own leisure.

Perhaps we can stipulate that ‘trading’ should be arranged by PM between the various members FIRST so as not to litter the thread unnecessarily, then both parties simply post their respective position request/approval here for the record (only after agreeing by PM first). Two posts-per-swap shouldn’t be too much of a burden on the thread size, and then I can track them in a single post for you.

I’ll keep the record in a table form with references to the relevant posts and positions for easy posterity and reference:

Date Post No Type (Al/CuSS) Requestor From Pos Approver To Pos Status (Pending/Approved/Rejected) Updated (Y/N)

07/11/2015 - 21:55 91 CuSS B42 Blank 42 Approved Y

I’m on holiday at the moment, so this is just the first few I could muster this-morning for this post; and if agreed, I can update it each night.

What say you mate; do you reckon that would be helpful?…

My personal opinion is that it is genuinely making people talk to each other when they might not have before. On the plus side, all this position swapping nonsense (granted it is ridiculous!), is driving engagement amongst individuals; and we are all chatting, PM’ing each other, and showing enthusiasm and passion for the hobby and groupbuy. So I don’t think these necessarily a bad thing or classified as spam posts.

Also, it keeps the visibility of this thread high at the top of the forum and therefore generates more interest and, ultimately, uptake of the Groupbuy. (I only added myself for a third and fourth set so that I appeared in a numbered position 31! - which was then disrupted!) It’s all fun and games!

Hirshy

Just put me down for this

1) Aluminum (Al) set.
2) Tint (X6 in CW and K6 in NW).
3) Quantities.: 1 set

I appreciate your willingness to help, Hirshy (and others). Please feel free to update me and I will make the changes necessary when time allows.

Everyone, please keep in mind that this is an interest list and nothing is written in concrete yet (specs, timeframes etc.)…including no guarantee of S/N assignment. As stated previously, it is likely to be a logisitical nightmare…so please don’t expect it! We will do our best to make it happen, but, ultimately, it is about the lights, not S/N placement. I am also not sure if we will be able to mix tints within a set also, but I will check on it.

Considering the brisk reaction time we have been getting on test samples, I fully expect this GB to materialize at a faster pace than previous GBs. I don’t forsee a problem having this ready for the Christmas season. Nevertheless, this is not a guarantee. There are always unforseen challenges in dealing with Group Buys!. :Sp

Additionally, we have had some really interesting suggestions on design, materials usage etc. These ideas deserve adequate attention, and are being discussed with Neal and the manufacturer of the X6-SE v2. Likewise, it is nice to see the willingness and excitement of BLFers wanting to help and push this SE light set along. The more people we have participating, the better value and specifications we can achieve.

Thanks for everyone’s effort and patience!
kronos
(updated in OP)

I didn’t see my name on list 1 and I’d like to be for WW or NW if warm isn’t available.

Which version…SS/CU or Al?

oh lawd. put me down for 1x CW aluminum

The 1st set… SS/CU

The driver being used is a FET+1, and the +1 makes moon mode possible. The firmware has moon configured as part of its default mode group, but it can also be turned off by switching the mode group. Moon is calibrated to be a sub-lumen level, ideally between 0.2 lm and 0.5 lm.

Awesome, this sounds perfect. It might rival my Armytek Tiara Pro- Jeeze is that thing low.

MH, it blows the doors off the Armytek… think about it. half a lumen in moon (or less) and 1600 lumens in Turbo.
