BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

oh lawd. put me down for 1x CW aluminum

The 1st set… SS/CU

The driver being used is a FET+1, and the +1 makes moon mode possible. The firmware has moon configured as part of its default mode group, but it can also be turned off by switching the mode group. Moon is calibrated to be a sub-lumen level, ideally between 0.2 lm and 0.5 lm.

Awesome, this sounds perfect. It might rival my Armytek Tiara Pro- Jeeze is that thing low.

MH, it blows the doors off the Armytek… think about it. half a lumen in moon (or less) and 1600 lumens in Turbo.

It’s not as low as a Zebralight. My ZL SC52 has modes at 0.10 lm, 0.02 lm, and less than 0.01 lm. However, even the brightest of these seems a bit on the dim side, especially for a 1x18650-sized light, so I aimed a little higher. The sample I’ve measured is getting 0.30 to 0.35 lm depending on battery charge. And very soon I should have another sample so I can get an estimate of how much variation to expect between units.

BTW, I discovered recently that Vinh sells a light similar to the BLF A6… and it reminded me just how fantastic of a deal this light is! Compared to the Vinh model, the BLF A6 has an upgraded driver, additional firmware features, and it costs like a fifth as much for a comparable configuration.

Vinh does great work, but in this case I think we’ve made something even nicer!

(and soon there will be a BLF X6v2/K6 combo with the same benefits plus more, in Krono’s new group buy)

(edit: oops, this was supposed to go in the BLF A6 thread)

please put me down for the $80 kit in NW please. thanks

Hi ToyKeeper, I suspect you meant to post this over in the other A6 GB thread? Totally agree with you though and it's why I hold off from investing too much £££ on custom lights because we know that this Forum has such great custom group buys.

Hirsh

P.S. Can you give me anything to help explain our flashlight passion to my Wife! She's never heard it from a girls pov, and perhaps there is something I'm just not saying right that she might appreciate or resonate with?! To her they all do the same thing and each new purchase is just one less pair of shoes!! Ta

Crap, wrong thread!

I’m’a go fix that now.

I can try. Is your wife also a photosensitive moon-dwelling immortal?

If not, I might have trouble explaining it to her. I don’t relate well to creatures of the day.

I just… like shiny things.

A lot.

I like bright lights and I cannot lie!
The big white ones that hurt my eye!
Well built with an itty bitty waist
And a tint with really good taste…

I like bright lights and I cannot lie!

Ask your wife how much her shoes cost? If they’re typically more expensive than your lights, sell enough pairs to buy lights to equalize that obvious imbalance. Fair is fair, right? Her makeup desk, we could buy a bunch of nice cells to equalize that big disturbance in the force right there! So, tell her you’re compromising your inner outdoorsman by buying flashlights and not guns, knives, fishing poles and all the alcohol typically consumed with those toys. See, you’re doing her a FAVOR buying lights!

I have over 100 lights, my wife is ok with that, remarkably. She knows I’m home with our son, not “honkeytonkin” or in general out and about wasting money, so she’s realistic and I appreciate her for that. I get her nice stuff too, which she usually stuffs in a closet and forgets about whether it’s Victoria’s Secret or a $500 professional mixer. Go figure.

I’m giving in too, you people are great salesmen.

Put me down for one SS/CU in NW.

Please put me down for another one. An AL NW one this time. I want both the NW and WW now.

I’m in for one Al NW please

Oh hell Jes :) You might as well go for the SS/Cu too....you KNOW you want to ....everybody will sooner or later - especially after the samples come out.

I’m in for SS/Cu,NW,1 set.

Haha I definitely do want it. Maybe I’ll borrow my textbooks from my classmates this semester instead of buying them, to afford it!

NO! ....you sell them an aluminum set for $120 :)

The sad part is… that isn’t even unreasonable. Less-capable lights often sell for more than that. Some people made a pretty nice profit reselling the original BLF X6 for a higher price, and these will be even better.
