Red S2+ flashlight ,for girls, for your lover

Everyone who's getting these fakes should be posting over in the GearBest thread.

Lets clean up Simon's thread, & look forward to the Blue S2!

if i paid via PP and they offered refund will it be store credit or refund on PP?
(i ordered 2 days ago and im scared ill get the fake ones.)

Clearly tell them “I need a PayPal refund. Do not give me store credit or coupon.” And I’d put at the end of every message I sent to them regarding this.

Of course they may still try to give you credit. :expressionless: But at least you were quite clear on the matter.

I used my red S2+ to build a red red-orange amber color mixing light, I don’t know what I’d put into a blue one.

XP-L V6 3D

I afraid there might be entire line of fake Convoys coming... buyers please beware from now on.

I hope the replacement they send is a real on. We’ll soon find out.

I think part of the problem is that in China there can be several companies making lights for one person\brand name. I believe Simon probably uses the one manufacturer, hence the good quality. But since every copies each other over there it becomes a free for all. We had this with the X6 BLF if I recall correctly, various quality hosts coming out.

These ‘fakes’ do seem to be particularly bad though.

By the way did anyone know that EagleEye is Rayus light? Again hence the high quality.

Marc.

I agree. Good point about cleaning up this thread. It seems to have spun out. If you buy from Simon you will never get a fake Convoy. I’m excited for the blue S2+ too. I talked to Simon again last night. He shot down the green version because he thinks a green flashlight is ugly. LOL I’ll still try to change his mind though. As far as the L2 goes I’m sad to report that he said he will not bring it back because the design is not good (obviously many disagree) and he didn’t make money on that one. Cool as many people think it was you can’t expect a business man to knowingly produce something that will not turn a profit.

Yeah that’s the real reason, he didn’t make money on it. That = “design is not good” for a business man. For most of the reasons we may like it, the “general public” probably doesn’t, so it won’t sell in high enough numbers. The only way to bring it back probably would be to try to get a “group buy” with high enough numbers here for him to be interested. You could ask what those numbers would look like, but because its more expensive, it would be hard to get many hundreds.

I hope there won’t be any fake Convoy L2 in that batch.

Its maybe as simple as… If you want the real thing, just buy from Richard or Simon. End of story!

I think that you got it right.

Thanks,
-Chuck

Exactly! And for crying out loud, whatever you do don’t buy from Gearbest!

Red S2+ as a host:

But is it the real deal? Brass retaining rings, but “1 x Aluminum pill” ?? Since the pictures are from the original light it’s hard to say if it has the SS switch cover…

If it says Aluminum pill then run.

Agreed. Besides it’s only 29 cents more on Simon’s site. It does say minimum quantity 2 but I bet if you asked Simon he’d sell you just 1 and you know you’re getting the real thing and it will probably ship faster. I trust Banggood more than GB so it could just be a mistake in the description but personally I wouldn’t want to take a chance.

I agree. Get it from Simon.

In the interest fairness. Banggood have been caught out in the past with the BLF X6 host, fasttech with best fire? With fake LEDs. List is endless.

Not the first, won’t be the last.

Marc

Still no sign of red S2+ that they supposedly resent, its been a month since they said they will resend it and two and a half months since I ordered…

Marc - You need to clarify explain the comment about Banggood and the BLF X6 host. That comment insinuates that Banggood was selling counterfeit BLF X6 hosts which is not the case. The only counterfeit was that OTHER vendors except GearBest were advertising BLF X6 SE lights and sending stock EE units.

As for Convoy...buy from Simon. Even if it comes to be a dollar or two more - so what. You will know what you are getting.
