Clearly tell them “I need a PayPal refund. Do not give me store credit or coupon.” And I’d put at the end of every message I sent to them regarding this.
Of course they may still try to give you credit. But at least you were quite clear on the matter.
I think part of the problem is that in China there can be several companies making lights for one person\brand name. I believe Simon probably uses the one manufacturer, hence the good quality. But since every copies each other over there it becomes a free for all. We had this with the X6 BLF if I recall correctly, various quality hosts coming out.
These ‘fakes’ do seem to be particularly bad though.
By the way did anyone know that EagleEye is Rayus light? Again hence the high quality.
I agree. Good point about cleaning up this thread. It seems to have spun out. If you buy from Simon you will never get a fake Convoy. I’m excited for the blue S2+ too. I talked to Simon again last night. He shot down the green version because he thinks a green flashlight is ugly. LOL I’ll still try to change his mind though. As far as the L2 goes I’m sad to report that he said he will not bring it back because the design is not good (obviously many disagree) and he didn’t make money on that one. Cool as many people think it was you can’t expect a business man to knowingly produce something that will not turn a profit.
Yeah that’s the real reason, he didn’t make money on it. That = “design is not good” for a business man. For most of the reasons we may like it, the “general public” probably doesn’t, so it won’t sell in high enough numbers. The only way to bring it back probably would be to try to get a “group buy” with high enough numbers here for him to be interested. You could ask what those numbers would look like, but because its more expensive, it would be hard to get many hundreds.
But is it the real deal? Brass retaining rings, but “1 x Aluminum pill” ?? Since the pictures are from the original light it’s hard to say if it has the SS switch cover…
Agreed. Besides it’s only 29 cents more on Simon’s site. It does say minimum quantity 2 but I bet if you asked Simon he’d sell you just 1 and you know you’re getting the real thing and it will probably ship faster. I trust Banggood more than GB so it could just be a mistake in the description but personally I wouldn’t want to take a chance.
Marc - You need to clarify explain the comment about Banggood and the BLF X6 host. That comment insinuates that Banggood was selling counterfeit BLF X6 hosts which is not the case. The only counterfeit was that OTHER vendors except GearBest were advertising BLF X6 SE lights and sending stock EE units.
As for Convoy...buy from Simon. Even if it comes to be a dollar or two more - so what. You will know what you are getting.
