Please put me down for 1 set of the Al NW. Thanks!

Hi all,

As are many of you, I am a member both here and at “the other forum”.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just say what we really think and feel over there without fear of retribution?

Let’s say a guy comes on there with a question: “Which light should I buy? - This $75 light, or this $85 light?… Which do you think is the best light, and the best deal?”

Then I could say something like: “Hey!… Have you heard that there is another forum called the ‘Budget Light Forum’? - When first visiting there I thought: ”Why all the excitement about a bunch of Cheap A$$ $5, Junk lights?“… Then, as I began to dig deeper into their threads I saw that it’s not like that at all. - I saw that sometimes it really is All about the Money, while other times it’s about the Cutting Edge, and for a fair price to boot! - I perceived that if you don’t really wish to know all about lights on a deeper level and just want a good light that works, price aside, then one of the forums May be better than the other, though both have mixed content. I have found that BLF may ”in parts” be too technical for some, but then there are other parts too. - Truly something for Everyone at BLF!”
.

BUT - Please pardon me, for I have digressed :) My answer to the $75/$85 light question simply would be:

.

BLF X6-SE v2 GB !!!

.

TWO Lights for 1/2 the price, Plus Blinding Output, and an UI to die for! - Not to even mention the opportunity to meet many new and Interesting People!

.

But if I were to post such ‘Blasphemy’ on the “other forum”, I would surely be drawn and quartered:-(

Such is life…

Have a Great Day!

-Chuck

Is this even relevant anymore? I thought getting assigned serial numbers wasn’t going to happen?

No probs mizjif - have updated my own Al request to ‘Rejected’! Coincidentally this leaves me at position 26, which is MY wedding anniversary in June. Just celebrated our 10-year anniversary. So actually feeling okay sticking with that number for the same reason as you.

Cool, I’ll make sure to note this for mattlward’s request against position 19. I will split it out into a separate request for his remaining request for position 18 to make it clearer.

You’re added at position 80 for this Al just because of your early timing. I’ll note it as a ‘Blank’ request in the table as there is technically nobody to swap with yet! Unless the next person for an Al specifically wants 81, Krono may just put the next requester into position 80 and shift you down to 81. (I’m born in 1981, so I would like it - but I’ve got enough for now. If the GB makes it past 1000 units, I’ll try for position 1981!!)

Sure, I can remove the record if you want no problem. You only appeared in the list because you mentioned positions 66 & 67 in your post. (It sounded specific, so I didn’t know whether you wanted those exact positions). As there was nobody else in those numbers, I left it as ‘Approved’ and the record was just there for posterity and reference incase someone else wanted the positions.

Position list updates will appear in post #324: BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

I think it is still relevant, as long as it is not perceived as a guanateed serial number and instead only a “position in the list (which might, however unlikely, transpire into the serial number)”.

Krono said ‘We will do our best to make it happen’, so until we discover that there will be absolutely no chance of preferred serial number positions, or are told they have absolutely no bearing from list numbering, I have agreed to keep track of requests and approvals for Krono to update is master list without too much overhead or littering posts.

Explanation of why I’ve done this and some caveats to know about the list positions here. BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

From a personal opinion, I totally empathise with both perspectives; some people are interested in their position and numbering for any given/bizarre/weird/petty/superstitious reasons (which is up to them). Whilst others will not care about such minor things, or even understand the rationale. I myself am not superstitious or attribute any illogical meaning to numbers, but I do agree and understand that some numbers will be more meaningful or resonate more with a particular person (ie. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Wedding dates, ages, house numbers, etc). It makes sense that these numbers will just mean more to some people because of their attributions.

If people want to express preference and it opens friendly discussions, PMs, chats, etc between like-minded BLF fans, then I’m only too happy to help keep track of it. It is also just another reason to keep interest in the GB high (as if the amazing lights by themselves weren’t enough!! haha).

Hope this makes sense.

I would like to stay in my 18th position please

Please, add me for one set Al CW XP-L HI .

Please add me for one set of Aluminum in NW. Can I have position 88?

One more of each please :)

.

Now, That’s what I’m Talkin About!

Wise move, Bugsy!!!

These will be widely sought after after all is said and done, though knowing you, you are probably just planning on just giving them away for Christmas:-)

Thanks,
-Chuck

Chuck, one could always give away the pretty SS X6 and keep the Cu K6 for one’s own selfish reasons.

.

Right you are Dale - Nice Idea!

-Chuck

I had thought of that - but really shivered at the thought of breaking up a serial-matched set! I’ll just keep the SS-CU set and giveaway the AL sets as gifts to couples. That way it’s a truly matched set (same material), I get to count it as two gifts, yet they are not really separated!

I’m in for 2 SS/CU in NW please

Interest list is almost even for SS/Cu vs. Al. Closing in at quantities of 100 of each. We will obviously hit the minimums for the Al version!

The SS/Cu is almost half the way there…and without even a sample yet! I don’t think we will have any problems hitting minimums, with positive results from the samples, of course.

Manker and samples: I wanted to let everybody know that samples are being assembled as we speak! Manker has been chosen to help design and produce the X6-SE v2. We chose Manker because of a strong combination of their technical expertise, design and quick turn-around times.

As far as a time estimate, I would say that we are 2-4 weeks out for completion of initial samples. This is blazing fast, especially when we are talking about completely new host materials (SS/Cu) :exmark:

Once we have samples in our hands, we will know much more about specs and implementation of our ideas.

Stay tuned!

(updated in OP)

Thanks for confirming; updated the table. Unfortunately mattlward couldn’t change to pos.18 or 19, so is still at pos.29 for the moment.

Nice number - I am guessing this is a ’Back To The Future’ reference?! One of my all-time favourite trilogies ever! Looks like Krono decided to kindly forward-fill you to pos.88 already so I will just record it in the table for reference.

As this was done for xelario (pos.88 above), it could probably have been done for Nguyen’s request for pos.81 too, as that was also empty at the time. It’s fair for him to swap with tizzo as his request for 81 was first and would have been in that spot before tizzo was added.

Kronos, Thanks for all your hard work on these exciting lights, and great news about the samples already!

As per the below quoted posts and my table ; these are currently the only approved position swaps that require updating in the master list:

CuSS

20. Sarge930 NW
57. jealous57 SS/Cu WW

AL

7. djozz Al ?
13. ahirshy Al ?
15. ReManG Al NW

31. ahirshy Al ?
32. nguyen Al NW

34. Iron potato Al NW
39. Tinn44 Al NW

80. tizzo Al NW
81. Nguyen Al WW

(all done and transposed, just need copy/paste into your list…)

Thanks ahirshy…I’ll get to the swaps when I can.

Will the SS version be all SS or were the suggestions about using a copper pill taken on board or is that all a surprise?

Add me for

  1. Al
  2. NW
  3. One
