There is an active link now to Help fund the lathe purchase for Old-Lumens.

“Old Lumens Lathe fund donation thread. Contribution information here.”
It is being handled by “vestureofblood”

This should link you to if you would like to help Justin get started with his own
shop for producing more of his great lights.

Regards

I‘m in.
Thanks for the work in BL.

Thanks JamesB, VOB and everyone else here for getting this accomplished. This is a great community of people. Well done.

Right on!

Old Lumens needs help welding a Steel Table in Texas.

Old Lumens has nowhere to weld a steel table,
and no one nearby to help him with the welding.
He does not have a welder.
Can someone near Tyler Texas help justin weld a table ??

Don't think he needs a welder anymore;

Someone go tie him up and stop him from making a wood table !!!

Just hire one of those alchemists who turn straw into gold, it should be an easy matter for them to convert wood into aluminium

Can somebody post on CPF.
we need more money to get this finished.

Sorry I can’t help, as I stopped being able to find serious work a long time ago.

Great sentiment, but if they’re here, they know; if they’re not here, they probably wouldn’t understand.

people on CPF watch his youtube videos.
Old Lumens is internationally famous in the flashlight world.
everyone on CPF knows who he is
ban all negativity from your thoughts

I agree CPF is a great community too, and there are many many generous spirits there as well. If someone does start a thread at CPF I strongly suggest getting permission from an admin first. "Freelancing" (ie doing things without getting the permits first) could get the deal squashed. There have been a few people who took advantage there in the past, and so regulations there are more strict.

hey everyone.
there is NO BENCH on the wishlist.
having the bench made of wood does not lower
the amount of money we need to buy all the tooling.
a lathe is no good without all the tooling.

we have a long way to go to finish this fund drive.

I suggest we keep this inside BLF. I’m sure we can do this.

By the looks of it we might reach the numbers within the next week, there is no reason to rush!

We will finish off the lathe drive,
and start a new drive for a mill.
We have many unsold lights that were donated.
Justin can put a mill to good use.
He has a lot of fans on CPF.
They will want to help.

This is another option, a Lathe/Mill combo machine. I have a similar unit myself, it works great for various purposes, but will need tooling for both. > EDIT: the Smithy Midas Machine: > http://www.smithy.com/midas

You might want to pm old lumens with that link.

I just realized all their Midas & Granite Combo Machine models are on sale right now, AND comes with a free Tool-Pack to get started: http://www.smithy.com/midasMachines
The Midas 1220LTD is much the same as i have, (same unit under a different brand name) and its capable of nearly everything a small mill and a Lath can do, ( added with heavy Duty Drilling)

I haven’t been here in a while, but I am in……
