I have only seen the L2T in pictures on Solarforce's website and Old's review sticky, so I admit to not having seen one in person, but I prefer the looks of the L2 over the L2T. I do like the L2T Head on the L2 (thanks, Old, for demonstrating how well they go together), they do look natural, now that the L2 has the matte finish. Too bad SF does not sell the bare L2T head so that you can just purchase that to turn the L2 into the "L2t" or "L2.5t". :)

What was the final verdict on the l2t tail as far as current? I thought I read it didn’t handle the higher current that well.
I still haven’t jumped in the SF yet (other than the 2aa I gave to my Dad). I have 2 6p’s, but don’t have enough drop-in’s (or funds) to support many more hosts.
Now I have to decide between a L2, L2P, & L2T…
Thought my mind was set on a gray L2p until they sold out again.
I did swap switches between my L2T and new L2 ...
Wanted to see what the L2T was like with a reverse clicky - and actually - I could like it ..
Though Id rather buy the entire L2 than just a clicky ... [ which I will ]
Back at school so limited time available ...
Though I did light box it with the switch and no loss in output [ low current L2T with L2 switch ]

Probably worth getting the L2P w/drop-in already assembled since you get the drop-in for $6.00. Even if you don't prefer SF LED's it can still be used in another host for the low cost of $6.00. Also, the new L2P host is priced about $6.00 more than the old model was last priced at, which is what the L2T is currently being sold for. You also get a more expensive forward clicky on the cheaper L2T. So is the HAIII anodizing worth the $8.00 difference (considering tail switch difference)? That would mean we're also trending upwards in price.
EDIT: I was looking at the regular L2. It had me fooled because it looked like the L2P from those pics. Sorry for the misdirection :)

I thinks thats highly Personal - pick the one you like ... If you like em all , your in trouble .
S8 it is... Not sure how I would like the looks of black matte mixed with SS crown on switch.
Besides, S9 is more $$$ than the whole body...
I like the look of the knurling and the finish. I imagine it would look stellar with a non-crenelated bezel. And I would need a recessed button that allows it to tailstand. Otherwise looks like a decent choice.
Good news everyone... your prayers have been heard. ;-) The new L2-TS (tailstand + 3 amp switch) is here. Together with that new black bezel , or the classic stainless steel bezel this light might be, what you are looking for in a P60 host.
I've got mine on order with a B3 stainless bezel. I should have it this coming week..hopefully :)
Is that tailcap similar to what L2P has?

Here's the new L2P tailcap which I'm pretty sure is the same one they're offering as an option. It has a smaller boot than the original for easier operation. I'll be using it on my new L2
Yeah , but is the new L2 tailstand clicky a forward or reverse clicky ?
I received my 2011mom l2 last wed. and I was absolutely blown away by the quality. Waiting on my xml drop in from manafont to arrive so I can test it out :). I’ve caught SF fever for sure!

it takes everything I have not to order more lights and accessories from them, lol. Already listed the light and parts for my gf that I want for xmas :p
