Still following the build ! :-)

It must be wonderful to have such able dogs helping you with the hard work!

Looking good

Looking great as always.

Wow. They lit up and kept on going. Now all I need is some sort of driver. I'm open to suggestions if anyone can help. This should work with 3 batteries in series with a buck driver. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, you right. I remember reading some of your driver threads when I first joined BLF. So I'm sure you knew you're right. Regarding driver suggestions. RMM knows his driver stuff and I'm sure he will set you up with what he is sending to you. I think he has a couple bucks he designed that are up for the job. I really need to revisit those threads. I don't remember the diameter you are limited to. Other than his stuff, the 26mm HX-1175b1 seems to be a good candidate, but it won't have nice modes without swapping the MCU.

Thanks for the confidence vote ImA4Wheelr but my electronic knowledge is sadly lacking. I admire the likes of yourself and others the way you build and manipulate drivers to suit your needs. Ive left the leds hooked up together until the driver comes in to test it on the bench before I get to carried away.

This is the driver I have coming which will be run from 3 batteries in series at a maximum current of 5 amps.

Without hassling RMM yet does anyone know if this driver can be controlled with an electronic switch?

About the sacked assistants helping with the hard work, I dont know about that, them creating work, I do know about.

Looks terrible. You should finish it and send it to me for re calibration. Or just fold some foil over a shim and slip that in the gap.

Cheeky bugger. I wish there was maybe half a thou more tolerance everywhere. I may try and sand blast it to knock of the micro high spots of the machining to make it unassembler without destroying the reflectors.

It does look terrible though as it has marks in the finish all over it from deburring down inside.

So what , half a thou is maybe all of 5 ten thou’s? How many thee’s is that?

Update 23.8.15 in post five at the bottom..

Nicely progressing.

Maybe you'd like to borrow Jack next weekend?

Thanks for the kind offer but I believe Jack would only want to play with Lucy and Jack. Probably fetch the ball where lucy thinks its chase the ball and chew it up.

Update in post five down the bottom.

Oh man, bummer about the bezel :(

At least you have two assistants to blame - there's only so much I can lay on Jack....

Phooey, million dollar body and a ten cent brain(recycle value only).

I did sketched the bezel on a piece of paper and missed that one important piece of information. I'll blame the sacked assistants for distracting me even though they were nowhere in sight.

Yeah, I have lots of copper and brass parts that are missing small bits of information too. I try to lay out my builds so that I can fudge things along until I know what the heck I’m doing but sometimes awareness comes too late.

Gorgeous piece it's developing into. All the way down to the battery carrier.

That's great seeing Lucy ride with you. I picture the first time being quite awkward. Or did she take to it natural like?

Thanks ImA4Wheelr. Loopy wasn't sure the first couple of attempts but she slowly warmed to it where Jack just downright panics. I haven't given up on him getting to like it, just a little at a time. They both love heading to the scrub though which is good.

What would the now sacked assistants need to do to become un sacked? It must be nice to just know how to do something on the lathe. Plenty to figure out but knowing the processes involved must help to Lego it out. Poor Dale is just now trying to scrub the window and have a peek into that sanctum of know how. Would you consider doing an in depth start to finish with him. A Tandem build as it were. Maybe not now or even soon but down the road a bit when he has acquired enough knowledge to ask the right questions. I’m sure it would entertain more than just I.

Dnf may be guilty of offering Dale advice in the background.

After the post by TL I don't think I will be building anything with anyone in public. I would be severely shamed in the respect I do it my way which is apparently the wrong way. Nice thought though. With Dales imagination I'm sure he'd also put me to shame on the creativity side of it as well.

How do the two sacked assistants become unsacked. I'm not sure to be honest. Probably if they actually did something instead of me doing everything for them. Like tonight I'll get home from work with the plan to do a bezel but I know already that there will be two dogs badgering me until they get there way and that is a long walk. When I get home from taking the dogs for their walk tea will be on the table after which I get to watch a bit of news on the idiot box and then its time to catch some ZZZs of which the same cycle starts again early in the next morning. I wouldn't want it any other way.
