Bare BLF A6 Interest List (coupon now public)

Another one :-) , will the clip be bare too?

The very same....just no ano :)

Should be but Neal is checking on that to be sure. Actually with engraving a coating is applied and where the laser burns is where that coating becomes etched into the metal.

I don't think so. TK's wand is a bit overworked. LOL

I want one 3D

without any characters, with SS clip and grey lanyard

You can throw me on the list for a 3D, although I am really more interested in an empty host.

1 3D please

Two for me. Both 3D.

Nice, how long do we have to decide? I’ll put myself down for a 5A, I was hoping to maybe get a 3D and 5A tint here to compare before deciding, but my order has still not shipped :’(

Put me down for one please, I cannot resist the need to polish this to a mirror finish.

Sapphire has zero to do with aluminum. Aluminum Oxide is the stuff they use for sandpaper, very tough, and the “rust” aluminum produces. All things disintegrate, the question is how many hundreds or thousands of years it takes to do so. Highway Signage is made from Aluminum. Ever see a highway sign disintegrate? They’re in all weather, exposed to the very worst nature has to offer, and they are there til the paint is worn and faded, the kids are done shooting them, and still, they stand, paying homage to a rule or a warning that once was. So, the simple answer, not in our lifetime. Not flaming or attacking, just meaning to inform.

And I will engrave my own, thank you. I might even clear anodize it. Just for fun.

Bare Aluminum, gotta love it!

Still airworthy after 70 years or more

I am in for one in 3D

Is there any possibility to get a bare 18350 tube in the later 18350 GB? I would suspect not but i have to ask.

Ask RemanG :)

If I can really get this in metallic finish,
1 x 3D (my preferred tint & finish, truly close to a self-customized light).

- Also planning on the 18350 tubes, so…

I plan to get a 5A with anodizing to tell them apart (partly as an experimental tint), but that’s reportedly sold out. So, wanting Mankers, but no order yet :weary: Should I order the ano’d 5A anyway to ‘get in line’?

This is a nice feature, and nice of them to get these for us. Thanks. Even though it’s arguably less work for Manker (one less production step), it does take extra work to set this up for us in a limited run. I’ve never been a big fan of anodizing, and let’s face it, most coatings on budgets lights suck. I think sometimes it’s actually paint.

Thought process for those wavering, or just discussion:

- Shiny flashlights seem to be a natural choice for something you may be looking for in the dark! Never made sense to me for something designed to be used, and sometimes found, in the dark, for it to be colored black! Especially when camping and you’re rummaging around in a large pack or sack! I want to see that reflection!

- If you’re buying multiple tints, you’ll be able to tell the lights apart easier.

- You don’t want branding on the light (no ‘engraving’).

- This is a fully recessed clicky hard switch, so like ToyKeeper said, Lockout won’t be necessary for most people with this. Lockout is pretty important with soft switches, though (grrr).

- No chance of anodization interfering with your electrical conductivity (this is more of a LOL, but I have had it happen, including on a Convoy C8!).

- I’m not much about looks, but I really like the looks and feel of bare smooth metallic.

- Actually, though easier to scratch, if it’s scratched, it’s not as noticeable. There’s just no anodizing to wear out over time with pocket carry, like my keychain flashlights.

  • This is a ‘rare’ option, though I don’t know why, considering budget Chinese manufacturers are always looking to save a half-cent on something.

Hi TK, thanks for gathering this interest thread.
Please add me for a 3D and 5A version.

I bought the 5A in the regular, but specifically held off the 3D. I assumed it was more likely the bare un-anodised version (if it was even being produced) would be of such small quantity that it would only be a specific tint and no choice as per the regular one.

Perhaps this thread is proving me wrong?!
Hirsh

Interested in the 5A.

They should offer a few other colors as well! (Anodizing)

Hi, some notes about questions asked above.

If the logo can go on the light, it will. If not, it won’t. It’s not a per-light choice though.

There are no serial numbers, and the list is alphabetic to make it clear that each person’s position on the list doesn’t matter.

The finish isn’t clear anodized or silver anodized, nor is it metallic. It is bare metal.

My responses may be slow for a while, since I’m spending most of the week away from civilization.

Have a nice vacation TK

My 2 cents about logos, i would prefer if they where bare without a logo. But i get that you said that if it can it will have one. So fingers crossed it can’t then

I’m in for 1 x 1A, 1 x 3D, and 1 x 5A

1 x 3D
Thanks.

well, at least one, after I get the 3 standard A6’s first and get to compare the tints…

I’ll take one 5A

Thanks,
Mike
