Review TrustFire TR-3T6 Triple XM-L T6 5-Modes Memory LED Flashlight (3x18650)

Forget it.

Xm-l needs at least 40-50mm aspheric lens.

i have measured the len's from my TR-1200 and TR-3T6 they both are 51.82 by 1.43mm aprox im looking at using this lens as a replacment

http://www.flashlightlens.com/str/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=mag_521_UCL

there is also a Light Diffusion Film you can have added if you like

http://www.flashlightlens.com/str/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=ucl_lens

i belive the 52.1 mm will not be a problem as there is a little side to side movement in lens with the trustfire host,s and i belive the 1.9mm will not be a problem in the TR-1200 at all but in the TR-3T6 you might have to screw down the alloy bezel spacer down a bit tighter.

i will buy one and try it in both lights and report my finds on fit, i dont have a light meter (will get one) so i go only go one how i feel for out put, but i feel it should be an improvement over the stock glass len's, i will give them a long run time test to see how they hold up.

I have a few of the UCL lens laying around from other various Maglight projects. I did a side by side eyeballing of the lens that's stock on the TR-3T6 and the UCL 52.1mm lens. They were so close in transmittance that I didn't bother replacing it (mostly because I couldn't figure out how to get the lens retaining ring out safely). If I had to guess, I'd say that the transmittance on the stock lens is probably around 95% (the UCL claims 99%).

Let me know if you get drastically different readings on the UCL lens and I'll swap mine out :)

Also, if you're looking for a GOOD/cheap lux meter, this is the one I use from DX...

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/lodestar-premium-digital-light-meter-20000-lux-7954

I don't use it to get "lux" numbers, I use it for a general comparison of all my lights. I mostly do ceiling bounce tests so the exact lux numbers don't matter, just how they compare to each other.

It’s easy to get the retaining ring off the TR-3T6 last time I used digital multi meter probes the stock lens is just glass.
Thanks for the heads up on the light meter I’ve been looking at that one and the on from manafont.

To Benkie,

Thanks benckie for giving info on UCL lense, plz give ur views for UCLp AR Acrylic Lens, they have light transmittance of 97%(as advertised), but I think they would deal better if accidentally dropped, what are ur opinion ?

To Rezolution

Can u post the lux readings for Tr-3t6

To viffer750,

Thankx for the info regarding aspheric lens,

Regarding "unique engrish language..."

As I am an Indian,My native language is not English, beside we have to learn 4 languages including English,so If I made a mistake then I am sorry

I wanted to tell you guys that the folks that have bought this light from this seller on ebay have been very pleased.

That's the same seller I bought my Ultrafire C8 XM-L T6 light from. He is very good.

And here's another option. Folks seem to like this light they have bought from this seller. He's the same guy that sells the Hi-Max 18650 2600MAH batteries that everyone is talking about.

The first link is the better deal. I just showed the second one because he has it listed as 3000 lumens.

I was just "tracking" perotan/s auctions some days ago, I still have a bookmark to check everyday :D

My brother just won one TR 3xT6 from this seller at only USD41 inc.Shipping!!

The first picture doesn't look like a genuine TrustFire, but pictures in description does. So, I'll wait and tell you then (may be in a month).

FX-32,

That might be a great buy. I checked his feedback and those that have bought from him are pleased.

And I wanted to say in the quote you qoted me above is 2 different sellers. I went back and fixed it so I put the info where it needed to be. But I can't fix yours that you qouted me above. I just wanted to make that clear. Both those sellers I have no doubt are very good. I have bought from both. The Hi-Max batteries are very good batteries.

OK, i edited my post in the quote. ;)

Have you seen the croco at the end of description? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LUMINUS-SST-50-5MODE-PCB-DRIVER-/220699453480?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item3362b66828

Are they geniune TR-3T6 or just copies, what happened last time ilikeflashlIghts posted eBay links ? + 28 people brought fakes and are still trying to sort it out. Maybe hold off on the eBay links untill you have personally brought, try and tested the light in question and they are proven not to be none genuine (fake) TR-3T6,s if they are genuine Awsome but if they are fakes or another type of 3 x T6 and you are happy with them then make a new thread

:) That's my signature.

I will as soon as it gets here, my thoughts are since the lense is stil glass it can still break but since it has a AR coating on both sides it should be stronger then normal glass atlest it should not shatter.
I have a torch with an AR coated lense and it seams really good, strong and lets out good light, the UCL Lense seamed to be used alot in high out put modified maglites.
I will test the lense with a long run time test as I have been planing to do another run time test longer then my last ones i did with the TR-3T6 as I want to see if the AR coating on the UCL will handle atlest 45 min runs on high, because if it will not it’s no good to me.
I’m sure the UCL lense will handle it no problem but I would like to test it for fit and use before I recommend it

@Dimitrioptimus

I can't do any testing with it until after Christmas. My wife let me open it up to see if it powered on (so if there was a problem we could return it), but she got it for me as a Christmas gift :)

with in the next couple of weeks im going to buy this lux meter as im intrested in testing the TR-3T6 and testing the diffrence in the stock lense and the UCL lense

I have ordered the TrustFire TR-3T6 (3x 18650 version), but I don't have it yet.

I saw this optic that was made for the 3x xm-l cree, comes in 19 degree and 25 degree I think.

Was wondering if you could use this instead of the stock reflector to create a thrower out of the tr-3t6 ?

It mounts to the PCB via 3 pins, but I don't know if the TrustFire tr-3t6 PCB has the 3 holes in it or same alignment?

Probably not, but maybe custom file/glue it on ?

Here is where I saw it

http://www.led-tech.de/en/High-Power-Supply/LEDIL-Optics/CREE-CUTE-3-XM-optic-19°-LT-1751_106_146.html?cross=1751

I'm new here, and to led flashlights, so may be a stupid question.

Thanks !

Great forum by the way, I've learned a lot here !

Hello and welcome, i dont think that reflector will work, well not with out a hell of alot of effort

junk250 It's too small

Benkie,

Hello, thanks.

I guess the lens is designed for the 3x XM-L PCB shown on the same page?

How2,

Thanks.

Too small as to the arrangement of the LED's, or too short ?
