Yes Sir!

But, Throwers that also Flood make it awful hard to see down range, with the high foreground brightness blasting me in the face.

Thanks!

Excuse me?

Triple XHP 70 using the LUM 5-90 reflectors and a huge head - 05/06/15 Finished- with beam shots.

The better pill isn’t needed for only 4-6A that a XP-G2 S4, XP-L HI or a XM-L2 U4 would pull. Just because a better pill has been sold doesn’t mean it is absolutely necessary.

The better pill give less heat sag & is needed for emitters with higher amp pull, like that old high amp round one with high CRI, that i can’t remember the name of right now sorry.

I hope a BLF Courui D01-SE with the big kaidomain reflector could be made, with crazy performance like that i am pretty sure a lot of people would be ready to pay much more than the old sweet spot of $20-$30.

If we could get that with a FET driver or even cheaper just running DD, it would beat almost anything out there in throw.

Yeah - But, that’s not a Thrower, that’s a BLASTER! - It Throws simply by using brute force.

Can you imagine how bright the foreground would be in your face with that Monster?

Try using that thing in most locals, and the Cops will be called:-)

Hey! - Justin is The Man, that’s just not my idea of a Thrower.

Please understand that I do understand that a Triple can Throw, it’s just if it does, you have to have the very high foreground along with it:( … I already have more of that than I need with my lowly Acebeam K40M If we can’t get a GB going, I think that I’m going to be talking to Vinh about one of his Acebeam K40L with Genuine XP-L HI. - That’s the same concept as the proposed BLF-SE Courui D01, but at MUCH greater cost.

Maybe Justin will make us some custom Courui Pills?

Thanks all the same,
-Chuck

 a cop calling light……that could have its uses, that would kind of be like a reverse bat signal

I hope I one day actually build a light so bright that cops are called
The best i have done so far is just piss off some neighbors

Not budget at all :_( , but wow xpg2-s2! :open_mouth: Super Duper thrower! 8) http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?404463-TM36vnM-Limited-Edition-The-1M-Lux-Reflector-Thrower

Well, it has been a while since I had mine open, but IIRC, the pill is thin, like around 1/4” and the threads are not very tight. I don’t know how much current the existing pill can or cannot take, but it doesn’t impress me much. I’d want at least a thicker piece of metal with better threading just as a matter of build quality.

Any updateds on this subject? :stuck_out_tongue:

Definitely subscribe.
Can’t wait for update of batman call sign light

I’m late to this thread, probably because I’m not much into throwers lately, but I’m with you, and especially for the idea of a small light that is very bright and throws huge. That would be more “special” than a huge light that throws well IMO.

The Jacob A60 has a nice structural design also with the “light engine” section, so it might make a good base for something like that.

My vote goes to a single 18650/26650 or even a single 18350 dedicated thrower.

For a 18650/26650 light the A60 seems ok, although the golden rule with throwers is “the larger the reflector the better the throw”. The A60 head diameter is 55mm, so the reflector itself will be 50mm at best.

Alternatives: Maxtoch M12. Not cheap, but high quality. Mine does with dedomed XM L2 and LD1 driver around 235Kcd.
If and only IF the reflector works well with a dedomed XP G2, this light could reach as much as 375Kcd.

Alternatives: the light shown previously in this thread - single 18650 from Ali Express. Again, depending on reflector diameter and how well it works with a dedomed XP G2. Provided the heat transfer is or can be easily made adequate.

Just a “warning” from my own experiences: the reflector size is no guarantee: the reflector has to be able to work well with the dedomed led you will be using.
In my BTU STR1 (yes the fugly light with all those cooling fins) a perfectly centrered dedomed XP G2 and a LD2 driver could not get it above 340Kcd. The spot was still too big, almost as big as with a dedomed XM L2.
On the other hand, my Courui D01 “Big Head” (LD2, 5A) does 361Kcd with dedomed XM L2 and fully charged Efest IMR2500 purple.

That light has a bigger reflector, but not that much bigger and the spots are same size.
If this reflector works well with a dedomed XP G2 (and from other posts in this forum I do believe it does  it could potentially reach as much as 550-600Kcd. With a tiny, tiny hotspot, that is.

MAXTOCH Dedomed 2X, 1000Meters Thrower, 280Klux, let me know if there’s any interest in it.

Only if it begins life “Domeless” with a XP-L HI.

I really prefer a more “normal” tint - Not Green.

Thanks,
-Chuck

It’s dedomed U2. I think it’s tint is quite normal then…

Subscribed, +1 for courui

A Maxtoch flashlight would be a great quality light, worthy of a BLF-version, but I'm not sure if it would be really budged, I think the idea would be under $25 or $30 the most.

I knew you have a hunting potential m8! I knew it

Yes we know its an OK flashlight, but its problem is that its too heavy for 227 and 223/ even 3006 caliber based rifles…not everybody lives in Australia, and not everybody has a guy to carry his backpack/10kg rifle while hunting

Fandyfire stl-v6 is available around the $25-$30 mark.

Simply changing the design of the body and head, using high quality components and a modern emitter should net somewhere around 250-300k lux.

Could probably get a group buy done for around the $30 mark I’d say.
