More Fake Convoys from Gearbest.

Got ya beat. 29 days since I ordered 2 red S2+’s.

They shipped my Red S2+ replacement with the slow untrackable shipping. I got it in about 30 days. The wife was pleased with it.

mines 34th day still counting

Does anyone know who actually does the assembly on these?
I am confident buying directly from Simon that whatever variation I order, he pays attention to see that all the variations he sends out have been done carefully with good parts.

When I buy from a reseller and ask for a variation, I’d sure like to know whether they just pass that order on to Simon, or have someone in their back room make the modifications.

Simon does the assembly. If the lights are legit then yes they pass the order to Simon and he builds them. In the past as we know, they’ve just filled some of the orders with fake Convoys. The third party also adds a great deal of shipping time. Gearbest just commented on their own thread because Simon told one of our members that he has not shipped any blue S2+ to Geabest. Their reply was that they listed them but they don’t actually have them yet. It seems they wait until several orders come in and then order from Simon. Knowing that is just one more reason to avoid Gearbest and order direct from Simon. With the BLF discount he is giving us and free ePacket shipping why go anywhere else? Gearbest might save you a dollar but shipping will be much longer and you risk getting a substandard product. Not to mention GB’s customer service record is awful while Simon’s is excellent.

Received the resending from Gearbest, and this time its the real deal S2+.
Happy now, but learned my lesson and will order directly from Simon now if i need anything Convoy.

Still thanks to CSGearbest for sorting things very quickly!

I’m glad that Gearbest is at least fixing some of their “mistakes” but they’re still just plain dishonest about what they sell.

Take their listing for the new blue Convoy S2+ which shows the following.

They already have 21 excellent reviews yet they have not even ordered the lights from Simon yet. That’s odd…

This light also puts out 1000 lumens! Strange, that’s not what Simon says…

Oh cool and this one has toughened AR coated glass! Oh wait…that’s a lie too. The S2+ just has a standard glass lens.

When called out for their false advertising they claim that they didn’t know and that the supplier listed the specs. That’s certainly not the case with Convoy and Simon is the supplier. Another falsehood…

Oh now I see. The reviews are actually for the red S2+. Funny, there are no bad reviews even for all the fakes they sold. Oh right, I forgot… they only publish the good reviews and if you give it a bad review on another site and they find out they try to bribe you into removing the bad review.

Seriously… why would anyone buy from a company like that???

Anyway, enough of my ranting. Sorry bout that. :zipper_mouth_face:

Certainly agree.

People love to save money. I do. It’s like gambling with GB. But people get the sense that the odds aren’t that bad and they risk it.

As many people knows, I was a real Gearbest skeptical after using over $1000 on under one month. They tried to “bribe” me, censor me etc. And I got fake Convoy S2+, and other crappy product.
But they really have fixed all issues, and in the end, very well. I have used at least $500 there after all my issues, and now, good products, legit products etc etc.

So I think the are getting better and better for each day. My last test to them, 12 x Samsung 30Q batteries for $3.7 each, only hours before they increased their price to over $5. If they send out that order, I have no issues with them at all.
We all make mistakes, there is how we recover from thees mistakes that is important.

42 days for a red S2+, received it yesterday.
This time not a fake. and really nice. Would have preferred 3B tint, as opposed to the 4C.

+1 on buying from Simon directly.
Apart from getting the real thing first time, he has many options for the tint and driver.

Interesting. 42 days… a ridiculously long time to wait for a flashlight and yet such an interesting number. Toykeeper would agree…

got mine. im verry happy coz all of them are originals!

Did your Samsung 30Q batteries ship? I see the shipping days changed from what they were. It’s now “Ships within 15-25 business days”.

No they have not shipped yet. Will only wait to see this time, not cancel, ask for refund or replacement.
Have 16 30Q batteries now, 4 from GB and 12 from Simon at Aliexpress, so there is no rush to get the last 12 from GB. But I want them, so will keep the order.

Just a heads up; I ordered my 30Q’s from Banggood on the same day as my A6 (Different orders though). Paid $1.50 for the shipping upgrade, and the cells arrived within 9 days of purchase.

51 days and counting for my two red S2+’s!!! :frowning:

If you did not own a S2+ yet, would you buy it or the BLF A6 as a cheaper 18650 backup light? I feel the A6 has a pretty low quality compared to the convoy but of course it has better components but i have doubts because of the low quality of the soldering, anodizing etc…
The Convoy seems to be better suited for the average user because it has low voltate warning at 3.0V which i think is much better as 2.8V. Dont know why they used 2.8V with the A6, i thought the battery protection circuit will kick in at 2.8V and that is not good.

I doubt that the majority of people use protected batteries in the A6 since it limits current draw and really isn’t needed with single cell lights that have low voltage protection. I have a number of Convoy S series lights as well as several A6’s and I use unprotected batteries in all of them.

Realistically there isn’t much difference between the 2 lights for backup use but I would go with the A6 because of the different modes. You should carry and use both lights for an extended period of time before depending on it. It’s not unknown for Convoy’s to have issues straight out of the box.

A few days ago I took delivery of my replacement Convoy S2+ sent to me by Gearbest. It is quite surprising the difference in feel between the fake and the real one. It is a shame it had to happen but at least Gearbest (eventually) sorted it out and sent me the goods I paid for.

Think my two red S2’s ended up in never-never land since it’s been 60 days since they were shipped. Just sent Gearbest a PM and I’m sure they will help me out again. I really want some real S2’s so I requested them to reship the order. I was gonna request they change one to blue but I better not push it!!!

Update: Just got a PM from them and they are reshipping my order.
