I have the aluminium version with xpg r5 and the beam is cold which makes it (beam) looks dull and dim.
It has a stiff reverse clicky and changing mode is difficult. Half presses inadvertently becomes full presses which switches off the light.
It will be great if the switch can be upgraded.
Oh, and if an upsized AA version is available I will take 1 too.
I’m interested in one, but is the clip included? Also, I’d like the button to be smaller or the tailcap ears to be longer so that it could tailstand plus less like to turn on by mistake (with the button sticking out the way it is now)?
Is there any chance you could have some of these lights be based on the Tool, and some based on the Worm? I mean like the same exact lights internally, Nichia 219, L-M-H, etc. but one would be EDC clicky style and the other would be the keychain/smallest size style.
I don’t know if this would be possible, but I thought there might be a chance since you are ostensibly sourcing Lumintop parts already. You would be making dreams come true if you could do this!
There are already copper AAA available. So I'll be making the tool AAA, and Lumintop gave me promition to do this. Havn't checked if they can engave "ReyLight" instead of "Lumintop".
I think the pics in the OP show the tailcap button kind of sticking out past the “ears”. It just may not be visible in the pic above because of the angle of the shot?
The button of the Tool sticks out, good for clicking, bad for tailstanding. The button of my old Ultrafire A3 is recessed, which makes it hard to press in such a narrow light, but it tailstands.
I have a Tool. The button is perfect — easy to activate when you need it, has never activated accidentally. I think on a long narrow AAA tailstanding is never going to be great, so I’d rather sacrifice it for basic functionality.
I’m fairly certain I can lego the head of this light with my old ITP A3 and make it a twisty. I know the tool’s head can, so it should work as a twisty with this light too right?
Would be cool to just choose a clicky/twisty like that whenever I want.
Also, when would we be able to know what modes/runtimes would look like?
