Flashaholics Anonymous: The Flashlight Purchase Refusal Kudos Thread

Well, if at least one of those lights isnt worthy, then you know you wont be able to resist the urge!

I never considered selling any flashlights. In general when you sell some of your lights do you guys make money, lose money or break even? Do you sell to friends or online? If online where? Thanks

I managed to get my last month’s expenditures under $150!
So I ordered a $32 light.

Haven’t joined a giveaway in months but did get the X6 SE, BLF Ti, and on the list for the AAA clicky. The CU SS GB is too rich for my blood and the K6 is just a clicky Minimag and I have my own plans for a DIY version. Too many and can’t have them all. My biggest collection is in parts(drivers, LEDs, switches, springs, reflectors, mcpcb’s, optics) and a huge backlog on ideas.

Once the current group buys finally finish, I’m back on the wagon for a while.

… until then, it’s open season.

That sounds familiar.

I have way too many projects waiting to be done.

Hello, my name is Duck and I bought another flashlight last month. I think for the sake of those fighting this addiction this thread should be linked in the op of every GB started and stickied at the top of the recent posts page. The only thread to be stickied there. :Sp

Sell them here!
If it’s a really crappy light, I don’t bother because it’s not worth the shipping cost. But If it’s a light that’s nice but just my taste, I usually sell it for a little less than can be bought elsewhere. Modded lights bring a small “profit” (not really if you count the cost of the time modding)

I agree or even better when you log in a warning screen with a skull & cross bones should fill the screen with a warning to go back!!

I think I need a “-holics anonymous” thread for music toys. My art room is slowly being assimilated by the KORG.

ordered anything since last week my wife took my debit card after I promised I wouldn’t order anything after the olight S1 then went on to order a nitecore MT10A, so I don’t know if that counts, but Iam still waiting for a Rocher AS31 build by Tom E, uhhh I need help.

Hopping on the wagon! I have some good stuff in transit already, and hopefully that holds me over for a while. =)

I bought four of the A6-SE’s. I re-sold two to friends at the price I paid. One more I gave away for my 2K post give-away here on BLF. The last one, I use every day. I’m also in the GB for the Lumintop D80-SE, for four of them. I don’t know what I’ll do with those. I’ve also signed up for the X6-SE v2 - one set of SS/CU and two AL sets. Hoping to gift those AL sets for Christmas, and keep the SS/CU set for a Christmas gift to self. Then, there’s the re-vamped SD10, which has been re-named to SD4A, and the GB hasn’t started yet, but I’ve expressed interest already in the discussion thread. I had one from the last SD10 GB, but I sold it to a friend, in hopes of getting the new one. I also bought two of the DQG Hobi’s, but one was for my Dad, and he paid for it. And, I got a CooYoo Quantum for my Step-Mom, that Dad also paid for, because she liked his Hobi for reading at night. All of these are BLF GB lights. My bank account is sad right now. :_(

My wife says I need to stop buying flashlights. I think she’s right, but I’m afraid that if I don’t get in on these GB’s while they’re available, I might miss “The best flashlight ever made” and kick myself forever! I really need help. I didn’t just fall off the wagon. My wagon has been broken down and used for kindling for all this money I’m burning!

More like you fell off the wagon and then the wagon ran over you. This is the hardest time of the year because we all use Christmas as an excuse to buy way too much stuff and giving very few for presents and keeping most of the stuff for ourselves.

I don’t understand this thread. Why on earth would I stop buying flashlights? I mean, I could if I wanted to, but why would I want to? Really, no problems over here guys! Really…

Classic denial…

I’ve been fighting to not buy one of these. I’ve tried every tactic- too expensive, don’t need it, have enough AAA-format lights now, what I have now is good enough, better things to spend my money on- and all are faltering against my insane love for tiny lights. I’m thinking of getting a Hugsby XP1 (which will require also buying an XP2 so I can use 10440’s) since the XP1 is cheaper in hope that it will quell the desires somewhat.

I’m running low on ammo to fight this with. Please send some ammo money so I can handle the onslaught.

Phil

I am so off the wagon, I counted up today, I have 8 project lights either here or inroute, which is way to many.

Thank Goodness most are not more than an emitter swap and run it DD.

I am not sure if buying stuff and waiting until it arrives counts for “being on the wagon”…

I am pretty sure that is just addiction with a time lag (waiting for the hit).

I say start you counting when the last light arrives and then see how long you go. I wish you more success then I have had recently.

humm Im thinking about the guy from Breaking Bad. TK your the guy in the back cooking up the Killer Pharmaceutical Grade stuff at home.

I mean this is the Stuff that BIG PHAMRA does not have yet!!!

Addict - nah.
Enabler - Sort of like calling Che` a communist.
Dealer - nothing so crass.
Evil Chemist - now that is getting closer

I think you should start a company called “Krokodil Coding” !
