What goes down must come up… Rope climbing 120 meters is tiring, but because the ascenders lock you just have to stop to rest. Look at about 3 min into this video, it’s the technique I use for ascending ropes with the exception that I use two hand held ascenders instead of one, and mine have handles on them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SpQ1AC0Ikw
Awesome pictures and enjoyable video, thanks for posting. Hope you’re using your lanyards, those flashlights would be a git to get back if you dropped em
On the M6 I didn’t use a lanyard. I put a thick keyring through the holes so I could clip it with a carabiner and dyneema sling. I don’t trust those thin lanyards much
Yeah, it’s depressing to see sometimes. Seen much worse than this one.
I use my climbing carabiners. Being a climber since a long time I have many. DMM phantom are nice in size, but with gloves on they’re a little too small, so the Wild Country Helium is the next choice. These are way over the top overkill just for carrying a flashlight, but as I have so many of them there is no point in not using them.
They are terrific pictures Mike. Love the way the picture was taken way behind the light. It gives a good perspective of size. How long ago was the mine closed?
