This one’s interesting. The cells are 3P, so a boost driver must have been used.
2500 lumens seems like a reasonably conservative turbo rating, the XHP50’s certainly capable of higher. Dunno about the driver.
i asked “someone” if he can get it
The KD HAIII BUCKLE V6 in red that I bought from KD was a real treat. A great little light for just over £3.00. I think I have an urge to get another one probably blue this time.

I mentioned the boost driver becasue the forward voltage of the emitter is far above the input voltage and the cells are in parallel. By comparison, this is very unusual for nearly all cheap flashlights, which are either buck or linear regulated.
Cree shows 1606 lumens at 2 amps for a J bin XHP50. With reflector losses, etc… that would be knocked down to 1285 lumens, which is probably far more likely with the grossly exaggerated chinese lumens we have all come to expect.

I was hoping/expecting that it could have done 3.5 to 4 amps, which would put it solidly in the 2500 lumen range.
Considering the BLF A6 can do 1300 or more lumens, I’ll pass on this one.
mattlward:Do you know a way to filter that site for things in a category that are on sale?
Sorry I’ve not worked it out. I tend to look through many pages to find interesting products as the search is limited. Fortunately some sales live the SSC are listed on the main page.
They have a link for “Flash sales”:

Have some cheap items that might be interesting?

That link helps. The KD site has historically been hard to get around to find the best deals, but it is improving. The specials are worth looking at too, as they have a very broad range of torches, some have been around for a while, but great value.
I'm glad a rather small company has found a unique light.
I hope he will be one of the few that will sell it.
Just noticed this one appear

I have one in hand and will be preparing a review of the flashlight. Initial thoughts are very positive. Light output is similar to a FandyFire STL-V2 3xT6 and is noticeably brighter than an BLF A6 with a 30Q battery.
Thrower
I saw this light at KD and it looked interesting to me. I’m not sure if it had been discussed before, but since everyone is looking for compact throwers lately I thought I’d share it. [image] The head diameter looks bigger than a C8 to me, maybe XinTD X3 or Jacob A60 sized. I’ve already messaged KD asking for the dimensions, they said they would contact their supplier and get back to me. Quality looks good in the pictures. I’ve always been a sucker for big SS bezels (Thanks Foy). Appears to be…
Anyone have an opinion whether this is a deal or not?
