Hi, sorry, I think I may have rambled too much. Most of my previous post was an attempt to illustrate that one solution can’t satisfy everyone.
But the main point was this: A poll was taken, a decision was made, and it’s time to move on. I fully support the 3-mode .5/20/100 decision even though it’s not my first choice. I don’t want to complain just because I’d prefer some minor changes. Rey is getting us a premium item at a decent price.
let’s not make this harder than it needs to be guys. Personally I would like 4 modes but if the majority want three I’m absolutely fine with that. I would prefer to get the light under way then argue about whether it’s 0.5% or 1%…
Hopefully this project succeed. It will be a very special and exclusive flashlight.
I have expressed my preference. But either, I buy a unit whatever the mode setting.
I'm not trying to sway anyones opinion but I'd personally like a 1 lumen low , second mode to be high and third to be medium because that's kind of how i use lights .
minimum if I can get away with it ..high to see what I need quickly and then throttled back to med if i need some runtime .
kind of like the thrunite Ti
I also like the large jump from low to high because it impresses... not just others but me too .
like the eagletac 2012 d25a ti on a 14500 .....30 lumens than 600 . maeks me smile every time I change modes ..if it had a 150 lumen medium and a 3/4 lumen moon it would be sweet.
For all those people who dislike a moon / low /med /high /turbo ..i think being just one extra click away from max. wouldn't bother them as much ...i think it's the extra 4 clicks that bug them .
After playing with a xeno es1 for quite a while that has med/low high ..30/1/170 lumens .
I have to say i really think what people call an olight mode sequence is really kinda dumb .
Binnaca breath spray cap makes for a nice little short diffuser with a flat top for these lights. since they can't tailstand ...with this they can stand on their heads .Fits perfectly .tint is a bit cool white and has a minty taste .
The blf-a6’s med-press to go from moon to turbo was actually called “impress mode” at first. I wanted to be able to show off a triple Cypreus’ full output range to muggles, without interfering with regular use. And then it turned out to be really handy for other things, like quickly checking something far away, so I kept it.
I'm liking this as-is, the Tool look. I'd be interested in one, might have others interested. The modes sound good to me. Even at $30, it's a great deal.
