Test/Review of BlitzWolf 24W Dual wall charger

Thnx, great review!

“The charger can deliver up to 6A into a single usb plug, this is a bit too much.”

6A ? Ouch…

Yes, sadly it is nearly all multiport chargers that has this problem.

Fixing it makes the electronic more complicated and increases the loss in the charger (i.e. more heat).

Single port up to 6A?
Good thing i got a usb power meter

Thank you hkj, been waiting for this one.

Superb review!! Thank you. Looks like a great quality charger

great review quality as always !

thank you!

Hum…Your review says good charger but then you say it has no INDIVIDUAL OVERLOAD protection per port…

Does that mean it can fry a unit being charged if only one port is used and say 5-6A goes into it or something? (Sorry if that question is newb or does not make sense)

You also say “The charger can deliver up to 6A into a single usb plug, this is a bit too much.”.
What is the implication of this?

Thanks for your review as always

If there is a short in the cable, that much current can possibly damage the pins in the USB port depending on how long it is left plugged in.

Can it damage the phone?

Devices will not take more current than they need, the only time the high current will be a problem is if you have a defect usb cable or the device you want to charge is defect. In most cases the 6A protection will prevent anything from happening, but there is a small possibility that the cable might melt or in some even more unlikely cases catch fire. The biggest risk will be if you uses thin cheap usb cables, they are easier to damage and will get hotter when overloaded/shorted.

If you are near the charger it is easy enough to stop if you see it or smell it: just pull the charger out of the mains socket.

Is ok this for a charger like Xtar VC4?

Yes, all test copies was above 5 volt at 2A. This means that there is enough voltage and current.

WOW! Just what I need!

Ordering. Thanks HKJ! First order from banggood!

Thank you HKJ.

Worth noting that BlitzWolf is owned by banggood. The blitzwolf trademark is listed as owned by Guangzhou Banggood Network.

But like many products, blitzwolf/bangood devices are likely manufactured by a 3rd party. On amazon you can find RavPower and iclever branded chargers with identical appearance and specs. Likely manufactured by the same company and also identical inside. Lots of reviews on amazon, including a few reporting units that were defective, died, or smoked and burned. RavPower offers 2 years warranty and free return shipping for 6 months.

RavPower model RP-CU11

All of them have the same blue led visible inside the ports.

Of course the EU plug is also available.

Identical appearing product manufacture on the same factory does not mean identical quality. There is nothing preventing the factory sorting the finished product (or parts) in multiple bins, depending on tests.

I have seen identical looking units with significant performance differences, due to small differences in the construction. This is most likely due to different generation of the design and not as much depend on what factory made the unit.

I do not know what requirements Banggood has for their supplier, my review can only deal with the units I received.

Until now I have only received BlitzWolf products (3 different chargers) that have performed fairly good. If Banggood wants to use this brand for their premium products I approve of that (I will always approve a way to identify good products).

Would you be willing to test one of them?
iclever amazon.de
Some Ravpower on ebay.co.uk ship to Denmark like this one.

Of course I will, but I will not buy one just now, because I have usb chargers enough for the next 3 months. If anybody sends a charger to me it will usual be placed very near the top of the queue.

If you want me to consider it at a later date, when I have less in queue, please post in my usb request thread. I usual order from the request threads when my queue is getting low.

Thanks for the review HKJ.
Excellent, as always.

Now waiting for the unit to arrive from Banggood in snail mail
