Atmel has been acquired by Dialog. Could this affect access to chip programming?
Shouldn't - buyouts have happened before (take Motorola semi for ex.) with no impact, as long as our low end MCU's still sell in big #'s, we will be safe - they wouldn't want to rock the boat as long as there's profits in the line. I'd be more concerned about an EOL (End Of Life) event in general on these 8 bit'ers, but must be some BIG OEM's out there keep'n it going and keep'n the prices down.
These days, semiconductor companies change change their name/ownership more often than I change my underwear… at least once a year, whether they need it or not. J)
Umm. Once a year? That is gross :)!!!
Yeah, usually around the time of my yearly bath and tooth brushing…
You brush?
Yep, Dr Frank Furter say I need to take care of my tooth…
I was led to believe that most Texans had fangs?
