Review TrustFire TR-3T6 Triple XM-L T6 5-Modes Memory LED Flashlight (3x18650)

I will as soon as it gets here, my thoughts are since the lense is stil glass it can still break but since it has a AR coating on both sides it should be stronger then normal glass atlest it should not shatter.
I have a torch with an AR coated lense and it seams really good, strong and lets out good light, the UCL Lense seamed to be used alot in high out put modified maglites.
I will test the lense with a long run time test as I have been planing to do another run time test longer then my last ones i did with the TR-3T6 as I want to see if the AR coating on the UCL will handle atlest 45 min runs on high, because if it will not it’s no good to me.
I’m sure the UCL lense will handle it no problem but I would like to test it for fit and use before I recommend it

@Dimitrioptimus

I can't do any testing with it until after Christmas. My wife let me open it up to see if it powered on (so if there was a problem we could return it), but she got it for me as a Christmas gift :)

with in the next couple of weeks im going to buy this lux meter as im intrested in testing the TR-3T6 and testing the diffrence in the stock lense and the UCL lense

I have ordered the TrustFire TR-3T6 (3x 18650 version), but I don't have it yet.

I saw this optic that was made for the 3x xm-l cree, comes in 19 degree and 25 degree I think.

Was wondering if you could use this instead of the stock reflector to create a thrower out of the tr-3t6 ?

It mounts to the PCB via 3 pins, but I don't know if the TrustFire tr-3t6 PCB has the 3 holes in it or same alignment?

Probably not, but maybe custom file/glue it on ?

Here is where I saw it

I'm new here, and to led flashlights, so may be a stupid question.

Thanks !

Great forum by the way, I've learned a lot here !

Hello and welcome, i dont think that reflector will work, well not with out a hell of alot of effort

junk250 It's too small

Benkie,

Hello, thanks.

I guess the lens is designed for the 3x XM-L PCB shown on the same page?

How2,

Thanks.

Too small as to the arrangement of the LED's, or too short ?

The diameter is too small. The Trustfire head is 55mm and this is only 35mm.

How2,

It looks like it's made to fit on a 34mm board, I was thinking that the board might be the same size even though the head was bigger.

It appears the PCB is somewhat smaller than the 55mm head diameter, but it doesn't give the PCB size in the description for the TR-3T6.

Thanks

yeah, its not wide enough 35mm VS 50mm and its way to deep 16.5mm, there is only 1mm of room under the bezel ring and the top of the screw in, see the first picture in the first post.

the TR-3T6 head is 55mm wide and the screw in is just over 50mm wide (top) and just under 45mm long (deep) the reflectors on the TR-3T6 are 17.30 mm deep and 22.50 mm wide (aprox)

basicly its not wide enough and you would have to chop the top off the screw in that holds the 3 x emitters to make it fit is it was wide enough to start with.

Hi folks. I am completely new to this forum and this is my first post. I wish that I will learn from all members and share my experience.

Just purchased a 3T6 directly from the manufacturer who is an OME factory for those reputed brands. This 3T6 is HA III coated which may using both 2 and 3 18650s but not in Trustfire name. Driver 8.4A regulated.

It is a very good torch at it price according to so many positive comments, but the run time is very important as well. Of course, one may use 3x18650. For my own taste, it is too long and head/tail is not well-balanced.

I will modify it to accept 2x26650 3.7v(ea 4000mah) to increase the running time, which I already did it for my 5XQ5 torch. It is much better balance and grid.

People interested stay tune.

P.S. Excuse me for not so good English.

We'll be interested to hear how it works out.

No need to apologise for your English..there's much worse around here, and we love them all

winwinyorch how did you pay for it.

It is working for my 5XQ5 torch, so probably 99% will work for the 3T6. I'll try to upload photo of the modified 5xQ5 first.

Well. One merchandiser there is a friend I know who was working same as my field. This factory only product nice quality torch with nothing less than HA III coating and high standard aluminium alloy.

She help me to put it as a sample order and I T/T funds to them. But, I seldom buy from them since I prefer DIY more than ready made even the sampling charge is below market price.

Many members are interested in this 3T6 flashlight. Keep this thread up for more discussion. cheers.

Anyone have the run time of 1x18650 on high?

i will i want to do some longer run time test if any one is intrested and im waiting on the UCL lens a light meter to do some more test,s

it will not be that bright but i would guess under 20 mins top,s

I got my light and tried it with 3xCR123A, fits nicely in a very stubby configuration (with the short and 18650 sized extension removed). Didn't check the current yet.

Given the driver is rated up to 12.6V it should be safe to run them with 4xCR123A as the load voltage should be below 3V per cell with 1-2A current. I guess I'll feel safe enough to try it :)
