Overview: All Eneloop batteries 2005-2024

Got a package with Eneloop AA Tropical colors today, from a Ebay seller with 330.000 sales and 99.7% happy customers.
It says on the package and on the batteries that they are made in Japan. The date on the package is 07.2014, but they are marked BK-3MCCE/8PE and not BK-3MCCE/8PT, and BK-3MCCE/8PT was produced in December 2014, so it could not been from July 2014?
And there is no date code on the batteries. Testing the capacity now , but without the date code, is this fake batteries?
Edit: Found the date code on the batteries. 14 07 TE (or TF). So same as the on the package. Maybe this is the real deal?
And if yes, safe to use, or just ask for a refund and recycle batteries?
They had a charge of 1.30V+ when I put them on the charger. The BT-C3100 charge them up to 1.50V, and then start to discharge them.

The package looks like this one:

Edit: All batteries has their rated capacity, between 1910 - 2000mAh.

So the last question, did they make BK-3MCCE/8PE in July 2014 with tropical colors?

1. The production date is usually earlier than the actual date they come to the market. So that doesnt have to be an indication that they are fake.

2. Eneloops are known for consistent capacity numbers between every new set of cells, so if they are quite close together, that might be an indication that they are the real deal.
Im glad you did some testing.

3. Unfortunately eneloop has been a little "crappy" with coding eneloops.. But after some research it looks like the BK-3MCCE/8PE are provided for the Polish/Hungarian/Slovakian region.

Conclusion: I am pretty sure they are real.

I am still thinking about redoing the first few posts of this thread with some updates on the different (new) codes. They don`t always make sense..

(just found a website talking about fake 4th gen eneloops, but can`t say if they are correct, because there havent been any testing on the actual cells, only packaging) http://quatangso.net/pin-sac-eneloop-1-1-1257205.html

Thank you.

Has anyone seen the new eneloops that claim to hold a charge now for up to 10 years? I just got some, but not tested them yet.

Costco 29.99! 8 AA, 4 AAA, 2 c and 2 d adapter plus charger!

Some new eneloops

for the European market, August 2015 (not available in Japan)

Eneloop Organic

August 2015

and some made in China

Eneloop Hello Kitty

bk-3MCCB 2KC

Made in china. Ouch!!

Avoid them… (IMO)

Glad we see new special edition…. But… There was a fifth generation ready for production???

We can actually call these newest made in Japan cells 5th gen. Because their specs have kind of changed. Staying charged for 10 years (overseas) and 90% after 1 year (Japan).. but code is still the same though.

And the PRO version have changed specs, more minimum mAh, and different code.

Have tried to find a place that sells the new Eneloop Organic L.E, but I can’t find one place that send to Norway, and it’s not out on Ebay yet.
Somebody here on LEB from Denmark? There they have it to around $20/8pcs AA and they have the same edition in AAA also. It’s not costly to send from Denmark to Norway.

Or if anybody has a seller in Europe that sends to Norway. Nkon.nl has not the new version in their store.
Amazon Germany has them, but they don’t ship to Norway.

And you realy realy REALY have to have this new eneloops immediately right now? Can you just wait a month or two while they become more available! from reputable sources! Trying to be the first to have them you will buy some counterfeit crap and then start another revolution here.
Eneloops were never fast to reach other markets outside of Japan…

I saw them on amazon.de

The Hello Kitty Eneloops have been out for quite some time in SE Asia. This is nothing new.

Hey Kouryu, do you know when they came to the market? I've only seen them being mentioned over at cpf. (About the hello kitty)

But the Eneloop Organic (limited edition) is the new 5.gen, since they have a 10 year shelf life.

New Eneloop Tones announced (goes on sale November 13th, Japan only)

Available as:
BK-4MCC/8TN
BK-3MCC/8TN

Could these be the long awaited "10th anniversary" editions? If they are, I'm pretty disappointed!

My question would be: what were you expecting?

They just changed the specs on their batteries, so its kinda unlikely they would produce a "better battery" according to specs.

I kinda like them.. great colors!

I just bought a set of 4th gen eneloops, from a local retailer. The code printed is BK-3MCCE. I am not sure whether they are legit. The date stamp is barely visible, printed near the positive terminal, although the value is 1411 the same as the one printed on the packaging. Not like my other eneloops, the date stamp are easily visible, printed at the center, and it has format like 11-07XX. The other thing is there is ridge near the positive terminal. So, are they fake eneloops?

Are there vents around the base of the positive terminal? None of my eneloops have a ridged top or vents. My Chinese made Panasonic infiniums do have a ridged top and vented positive terminal. But I don’t have Eneloops with your code, I have three different codes not the latest.

Yes there are 4 vents at the positive terminal. Are they the 4th gen like mine? And what is the date code format?

Okay, your packet says made in China, so those are probably genuine, but not Japanese. The latter are the best, and made by FDK in Japan. The Chinese ones are inferior, and probably Panasonic Evolta under the skin. Evolta replaced Infinium, but might have been little more than a name change. They are a good battery, but do not last as many charge cycles as Japan made Eneloop.

Seems legit, but made in China (cells made in Japan are better).
